The Oklahoma Chapter of SVTOA are tossing around the idea of a cruise in February (weather permitting). Anyone from the SE Kansas area in meeting halfway somehwere?

yeah, that was what I said, but it is worth a shot. We had a target date of 21st of Feb if weather held up. Talk to your ppl and see if they would be interested....have them post ideas here if they like.

BTW, its about 3 hours for both KC and Tulsa ppl if we were to meet in Wichita.

Yes Jeff, there is an indoor go cart track in Wichita (goes nicely with the indoor plumbing we had installed just last week :D ) Rebel Raceway is the name of the place. 2449 E Mt. Vernon is the address. I've never been there, but to my understanding, they have 8 tracks setup and you go round robin to all 8. The Wichita region of the SCCA has an event setup there for the 17th (a Tuesday).

Ok, this is embarassing, but par for the course here in Wichita. They're a slot car racetrack. You know like the Tyco RC electric slot cars you had as a kid. Not to knock them, but not exactly what I had a mental picture of. I haven't been able to get them on the phone today (316-685-4488), if someone else wants to give them a try go ahead. I get the feeling that they're a evenings and weekends type of business. On the other hand, I bet they're fairly cheap when compared to the NASCART (or whatever they call themselves now) up there in Olathe.

Edit:
Here's the website with some pictures of the tracks: http://www.slotcars.org/rebelraceway/ourtracks.html

argh....uh yeah I think it would be kinda hard to convince the OK Chapter to drive 3 hours to play slot cars.

You know, if y'all might be interested in doing this at a later date, they do play the college baseball world series here in late summer / autumn time frame. Goes on 24 hours a day for about 4 days if memory serves me correct. Or if you want to come up on a Sunday and do a little parking lot racing, heres the local SCCA schedule:

March 14, Sunday
April 4, Sunday
May 2, Sunday
May 30, Sunday
June 6, Sunday
June 27, Sunday
July 25, Sunday
Aug 22, Sunday
Sept 19, Sunday
Oct 3, Sunday
Oct 17, Sunday
Nov 7, Sunday

I know that they would love to see you there. Regestration opens at 8 am and closes at noon or 1pm. Their website is www.wichitascca.org and should have all the contact info.
