I was wondering if antone knows if a dealer gives us an a, b, or x plan benifit for being an SVTOA member. Thanks for any help.
The short answer is No, SVTOA members do not qualify for any of Ford's special purchase plans simply by being a SVTOA member. A-Plan pricing is for Ford Motor and Ford Motor Credit employees plus employees of Hertz and other companies which Ford owns. D-Plan is for employees of a Ford dealership which is Blue Oval certified. If you qualify for any of those categories, it is up to the dealership as to whether or not they want to sell an SVT vehicle at the reduced price. There are a few dealerships which will sell under a special program, my dealership (Freedom Ford, Norfolk, VA) and a couple of others I am aware of; however, I know of none which will sell an SVT X-Plan.
X-Plan is for employees of Ford Partner companies; i.e., companies who do business with Ford. There are numerous companies in this category and most Ford dealers will sell most vehicles X-Plan (which equates to approximately invoice with a small reimbursement from Ford). You need to talk to your dealership to see if you work for one of those companies which qualify but, again, I doubt there are many out there that will sell SVT vehicles at the X-Plan price.
Geeze...guess this wasn't such a short answer after all. :cbra: :cbra: :cbra:

Um...yeah...I'm gonna have to go and disagree with you there, ok? Thanks. </Bill Lumberg>
Reason is, if it wasn't for the X-Plan, I would not be driving a Lightning. It wasn't an incentives package either. My X-plan price was the Employee A plan plus 4%. It came out to $27,270. Thats like 5 grand off of retail. A pretty steep cut. It was so steep and I saved so much off of what I was expecting, I had plenty left over for an extended warranty.
My company is a Ford Partner mainly because we buy and/or lease all kinds of vehicles from commercial grade trucks to your standard Taurus or Focus fleet car.

Good for you John, You are the exception not the rule... There are always exceptions. But ASP1 perfectly described the RULES .
Hope you're enjoying your Lightning.

Actually, from what I have heard in the area, that X-Plan deal I have is much more common than not. I do not know the exact rules but I do know that quite a few dealers offer X-Plan pricing on SVT vehicles because they are NOT excluded by the X-Plan pricing scheme. Infact, when I got my truck, the only Fords excluded were commercial vehicles and the new Thunderbird.
John...I didn't intend to indicate there were no dealerships which would sell SVT vehicles X-Plan; I just indicated I was unaware of any. Any SVT dealer can sell X-Plan...it's purely a matter of whether they will. That's why I indicated to check with the individual dealer to see if the purchaser can claim X-Plan and, if so, whether the dealership will sell at that price.
X-Plan is a terrific deal for lots of people and I'm glad to see you got such a great deal.

OK,OK, back to the original question. What type of discount is associated with each plan. And why couldn't Ford give SVTOA member a plan. Look at all the free advertising they receive from all the vehicles that the people own here. As I understand it they can give discounts as they please, they sure can't say we are not Ford partners. If SVTOA is strong enough this should be something that could be worked out. Especially since I heard the other day that if you join the Classical Airplane Club or Society or some kind of BS like that that you can qualify for the A plan. Who does more for SVT and Ford them or us.............
Thanks
Jim
