Greetings Ford/SVT fans..! Today I will be testing a new setup where I can operate a webcam from any location where I can get a signal from my Nextel phone. I have a laptop computer with webcam setup, and I obtained a serial cable that plugs into my Nextel phone and interfaces with my laptop. This means that any place I can make a cellular call, I can also have a webcam feed images to the internet.
This setup shows promise as far as SVTOA events go; you could have a "live feed" from an on-track or chapter gathering and let those who can't make it in on the action.
Notes: I will be at Great Lakes Dragaway today from 10:00AM to 4:00PM CST. I will have the system switched on and off, so sometimes the image will not change. When the camera is ON, the images will change every 20-30 secs (Remember, I am on a cellular modem that is not high-speed)
SO, if you are bored today, open this URL in a window, and when the camera is ON, the page will refresh when a new image is uploaded, you don't have to refresh manually.
If all you see is pix of my car in the garage, that means I have not switched it on yet- that was the last image from my testing.

I'd like a little feedback later on- did it work? Could you get a feel for what was going on today?
