SoCal SVTOA is having an Road Course Drivers School

- large parking lot course lined out with cones (not an AutoX)
- continuous lapping sessions!
- Location is California Speedway, which is about an hour from
the San Fernando Valley (10E) or southern Orange County (using the 241 toll road)

Despite the threat of rain, we had great weather here in sunny SoCal for both days of the event, and everybody had a blast!
I think we had a little over 60 cars at the event, and no major breakage. Special thanks to Jeff Lacina who came out to help.
Next event is at California Speedway in March... see advertisement in an upcoming 5.0 Mustang mag!
After that, Streets of Willow in July...

Thanks to everyone on the SoCal board of directors and all of your volunteers for their work in putting on a very fun, safe and educational event at California Speedway.
Yes, it was a long way to come for an event, but after seeing the smiles on peoples faces and sharing in all that great conversation and "fellowship of speed"... it was WELL worth it! It's always great hooking up with fellow enthusiasts and meeting people with whom you've only traded emails!
And for those of you that DIDN'T come out to "play and learn", shame, shame, shame! I even had fun in my V6 car!
Congrats again on a fine event SoCal! :tmb:
HHmmmm... now I just gotta figure out a way to get MY car out there for the March event on the infield course...

I have just got to thank, great guys like Jeff, who came out and gave there time and effort in support of this event. Really, everyone had the best time!
I think everyone should plan on attending our March event, where we wil be running on the large Grand Am infield road course. This includes the main straight and turns one and two.
Thanks again to all the great guys and gals that came out for last weekends event.

Hey Lightman,
Where did you get the supercharger?
How much?

The Supercharger is made by Vortech. Depends on your mechanical ability, as to what it will cost. The SC itself is around $3500. Then there is a lot of install time. If someone else does it figure on a $5000.00 bill.
I think the guys at Extreme Automotive in Canoga Park, CA are aces. They are located on Canoga Ave.
