O.K., here's the thing. I've always felt that each vehicle "has a speed it likes". In other words, if you're out on the road, with min. traffic, not really caring about a ticket, there's a certain speed you settle into where it's running sweet, sounding good, ready to run, and life is good.

On my 5.0 (3.73 rear), cruise speed isn't particularly high, roughly 77-82 mph.. On the Lightning, ('01 with 3.73), a bit higher, 85-88 was the sweet spot.

With the Focus, none of the above is even close. If I'm just cruising along in 6th, where it's sounding/feeling good, has real decent light throttle scoot left for hills, etc., I find it settles in from 94-103 mph. And it doesn't care at all where it is in this range. This shocks me.

I live in CT where we have some pretty good hills (400-500 ft elevation change over approximately 3/4 mile or so), and entering at the base @ 100 mph cruise requires very little in the way of additional throttle (more like pressure than movement) to zip right up/even pick up speed.

So, are you finding you're cruising faster than your other rides?

Definately - I'm coming from a 4x4 F150! But seriously - I find 140km/h is a sweet spot - but around town - I have to try to keep it under 80. Just too smooth and excellent handling.
