The Contis are trashed after 18000 miles, so I'm getting Goodyear Eagle GS-D3’s (right on time for winter  ) tomorrow, let ya'll know how i like them!

These things are awesome...for the first minute a drove on them. That howl from my car at speed is still there, so it's in the shop again getting new wheel bearings. I'll have a full report on how much I like them. I've already noticed the car has better response, despite the wetness outside. Once she's back to normal, I should have some real fun before I have to put her away for the winter.:bna

Just curious to know what kind of driving you did on the Conti's? I am wondering what kind of tread life I will get out of them. I just do normal every day stop and go. No Auto-X, no drag racing, etc.

18000, normal everyday driving! Though I do like to take that car on some really hard corners. A mix of hwy and city driving, some racing, over a full year of ownership (oct. '02- oct. '03). AutoX killed them though. I think I'll get some Azeni for that next year.

I'm at 23k on mine and still going, with the occasional autoX or drag day in-between, and taking on-ramps like I have a death wish. Tread is still fine, but I got a slow leak now in the right rear. Honestly, I kinda miss my Kumho's. Thinking of going with BFGoodrich T/A KDW's in the near future. I'm not that impressed with the Conti's...

I purchased some Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's for the front of my TA back when I had it. I thought they were some decent tires. I couldn't argue with the price of them, at about 120 a piece for 245/45/17's.

Yeah, I had the ECSTA Supra 712's in a 205/50-R15 on the ZX3, and they were a HUGE improvement over the 'Screamin' Eagles' that it came with. They also retailed at about $10/each less than the original tires, and were wearing-in more slowly even with more autocrossing duties. Having been to Korea and seen a land of nothing but Kumho and Hankook tires, I can tell you that tires may be the one part of an automobile that they do well over there. Kumho, last I read, was about the tenth largest tire manufacturer in the world. Not bad, considering that they're only OE on a few Korean cars. They're not OE on any major brand in any of the big three markets, but still #10 or better in sales volume in the world. They've been spec tires on a few SCCA Club/Pro racing classes, I think, and have a VERY successful record on race day. Personally, I'm thinking ECSTA MX if I go Kumho again, or BFG T/A KDW. Not sure yet. But the Conti's have certainly not been all I had hoped for. Better, but not great. And CERTAINLY not durable, as I've already had a tread puncture in one and a slow leak in another. I'll be looking for a good deal on a pair of them, or 4 of something better...
