I went home for the weekend, and i was driving my cobra to meet up with some friends at a coffee shop. i was making a u-turn to get in to the parking lot when i see flashing lights (sheriff). i pull in to the lot and he gets out of his car, walks up to my window i was thinking, what could i have done wrong, there was no sign stating no u-turns and i wasn't speeding. so he gets my paperwork and calls it in, and it comes back clear. he asks if i know why he pulled me over, and i said i had no clue. he asked what brand of exhaust i had, i told him. then he asks what i had under the hood and that i shouldnt worry because he just liked my car and wanted to see it. so i pop'd the hood and we chatted a little. he told me that he told his partner that he heard a mustang when i was a block away. then he told me to be safe, and went on his way. my passenger was laughing because she had never been pulled over because the cop wanted to see the car... just wanted to share a postive experience with "the law"...

Dude, whether you didn't mind or not, that's harrassment and abuse of power that the cop doesn't even have. I had that bogus bunk pulled on me before when I had my Thunderbird. If they really want to see the car, why couldn't they follow you to the parking lot, stop and ask yuou about it like everyone else? You didn't break any laws so what reason did the cop have to pull you over? I really doubt that your exhaust system was a viable cause especially if it has the certifications needed to be sold for street cars.

Anyway, good to hear the cop wasn't being a jerk about it but still, that burns me up. The police are here to enforce the law not make it up as they go.

yeah, i agree 100% about abusing his power. my attitude would most likely have been different if by pulling me over he made me late to something important.
