After hearing lots of good stuff about UPR's CAI, I thought that was the way I was going to go. But NOW, after reading about the Densecharger's system, I'm completely confused! Any thoughts or words of advice guys? Which system would work best running the stock pulley without a chip?

I went for the Densecharger. I didn't like the metal fenderwell piece that UPR uses, seems like it would heat up more than the plastic Densecharger parts.

-norcal_cobra Yep, plastic is cooler :bna

Both have impressive dyno charts, but you guys are right...plastic will not retain the heat. Even with the stock system, lemme tellya: This engine LOVES COLD AIR. We had a few "brisk fall mornings" up here in New England (30-35 degrees), and pulling out of my driveway....WHOA!!! I can only imagine what one of these systems would do!
(BTW, that IS a real sweet picture Frank!)

I just bought the Densecharger 9 but haven't received it yet. If you can wait a few days I will let you know what I think. I'm hoping to get it this week and it will be installed immediately. I have read about 4 different SVT message boards and the densecharger seems to be the way to go. More to come, Dave

I picked up 1.5 lbs of boost just by replacing the stock air cleaner (silencer was removed) with the UPR CAI. I love it! Definitely a quality piece! The tube gets warm, but never hot. The cold fenderwell air passing thru the tube does not have enough dwell time in the tube to significantly conduct any of this heat. The tube itself is powdercoated cold drawn aluminum 4" tubing. I highly recommend the UPR! :tmb:
And the increased blower whine.....she screams....

I just installed a Kenne Bell CAI. The dyno #'s from this on their web site are phenominal especially with their twin screw supercharger! The difference was noticeable but I initially did not replace the mass air meter screen and the air flow over the sensor caused the check engine light to come on. The OBD scanner indicated lean air/fuel on bank 1 & 2 so I replaced the screen and the problem went away and the performance improved. Has anyone else installed the Kenne Bell CAI? Any comments!

You will see similar gains from any of the CAI kits out there. You can also get the same gains from just buying a bracket and connecting a big conical filter to the MAF directly. Buy whatever you like the best, it really doesn't matter in terms of power gains.
There is not a heat problem with the filter in the engine bay while the car is moving which is why you don't see any significant differences in strip times/trap speeds between the straight and "filter in the fender" types of CAI units. On the dyno where the air is not moving, you might see a bigger difference but still pretty negligible imho. Buy what you like...

I went with the Steeda CAI and picked up about 1.5 lbs of boost. The installation was simple and the best part was that you dont have to drill any additional holes in the car, it used standard mounting holes. Great product!!!
