SVT Owners Association of Southeast Michigan sponsored by Dean Sellers Ford (http://www.sellersford.com) and Jack Demmer Ford (http://www.demmerford.com) would like to remind and invite you to the following events:

August 23, 9am - 12 pm: The Southeast Michigan Chapter of SVTOA is sponsoring an open test and tune at Milan this Saturday morning from 9-12am. Cost for SVTOA members is $30 and non-members would be $35. As we have less than 50 cars typically attend you should get as many runs as you want. If you have never drag raced we will have a brief overview of how the track works before we start. If there is a question about the weather, feel free to call me on my cell AFTER 7 am @ 248-342-7131.

September 4, 4 pm - 8 pm: Jack Demmer Ford is hosting an SVTOA-SEMI "Cruise In" to kick off our festivities to launch the 2004 F150 Pick up. From 4:00 to 8:00 PM we will have a special parking area for SVT's and other special interest cars & trucks. We will be providing refreshments and door prizes.

September 6, 10 am - 1 pm: Red Hot Rally (http://www.redhotrally.net/). The "Inaugural Run" is the first rally in the Red Hot series. For those of you who have done rallies before this is going to be a simplified combination of a T-S-D rally and a gimmick rally. For those of you new to rallies it is going to be a timed rally based on driving the legal speed limits (this is not a race) and answering a quiz during the course. The goal is to get as close to the course time as you can get without coming in over/under the time. The rally masters will make the course time and quiz. Each driver/navigator team must travel the course and answer the quiz. The quiz will be on the course, places you were and things you saw. When you complete the course you will need to turn in your quiz. Each team will be penalized for being over or under the set time and for wrong answers on the quiz. If you come in too far under the course time you risk being disqualified (this means you were driving over the posted speed limits). Think you can do it? If so there will be some nice prize money going out to the winners! And be sure to bring a picnic for after the rally.

October 4, 9am - 12 pm: The Southeast Michigan Chapter of SVTOA is sponsoring an open test and tune at Milan from 9-12am. Cost for SVTOA members is $30 and non-members would be $35. October 11, 9 am till: 3rd Annual Fall Foliage Tour, beginning at Jack Demmer Ford in Wayne, MI at 9 am. Tour will conclude in Jackson, MI at Paul's High Performance. As in the past, lunch will be provided for a small charge and a limited number of spots will be available at Paul's for dyno pulls. A flier will be made available on our website with more details soon.

October 26 & 27, all day: SVTOA Northeast Regional On Track Event, Beaverun Raceway (http://www.beaverun.com) , Wampum, PA (Near Pittsburgh). Details will be posted on national SVTOA website.

I cannot emphasize enough that we desperately need the correct email addresses of members that this email did not reach. Please forward this to members and feel free to forward to non-members as well. If you wish to get added to our email list, please reply to me. It is also important that you keep your profile updated on the National SVTOA web site (http://www.svtoa.com).

"To race a car through a turn at maximum speed, is difficult, but to race a car at maximum speed through that same turn when there is a brick wall on one side and a precipice on the other - Ah, that's an achievement." - Sir Stirling Moss
