03 Cobra Engine Tick

Just want to tell everyone who has an 03 Cobra with the Left Cylinder Head Tick that mine is going in this week for the head replacement!

The tick on my car has gotten more noticeable over the last couple of weeks. I took it in last week and pulled the Special Service Bulletin about the tick and gave it to one of our SVT Certified Techs. He went thru all the checks and ordered the Head Assembly.

It is strange how some days it's relatively quiet, and others it sounds like I shouldn't be driving the car.

Still runs strong though!

The tick is gone! My car was the great experiment, and it worked! Anyone having this issue please let me know!

How long after you started driving your car did this become noticable? I want to make sure and get it fixed if it becomes a problem.

The Engine Tick is a problem with early production run cars, those built up to Oct 2002. Cars built after that date are suppose to have the problem corrected. To tell if your car has the correct cylinder head, check the Left Cylinder Head ( Drivers Side ) and look at where the Fuel Injectors are, at the base of the head by the injectors there should be blue paint going along the bottom of the head. If you have this, your car has the "new" cylinder head.

Great! I was just noticing that the other day. I was wondering why that head was blue. I guess I got the fix. Thanks alot Tom!
