I have been dealing with the famous 03 "pull to the right" problem ever since I got my convertible, July 23rd. Hopefully tomorrow it will be fixed once and for all. I was told by one of the guys at SVT to have the dealership check the rear wheel alignment to fix the problem, so I shall see. Wish me luck......LOL:wtf: :wtf:

Well, so far, not so good news. My Cobra is spending the night at the dealership because they can't figure out why it's pulling to the right. They tried calling the folks at SVT, but SVT was closed today for some reason. Maybe in Michigan, election day is a holiday? $40,000 for a car that changes lanes by itself.

Well , so far, the car still pulls to the right. The service manager says there is nothing else we can do. The mechanic that is working on it talked with me though, and it was decided that he'd slot the holes for the adjustment so he could change things enough to correct the problem. Late this afternoon I called the service rep to see how things were going and the car now has a tire pull to the right, he says. I suggested that they move the right rear to the front and try that, OR, rob a tire and wheel off another Cobra to see if that cured the problem. The last I heard this afternoon was that the service writer was going to talk to the mechanic again and call me back. I never heard from him, so I'll just wait and see what tomorrow brings. In the meantime, I'm driving an awesome Focus! It beats walking, that's for sure. The dealership gave it to me to use while they have my Cobra in the shop. http://a3.cpimg.com/image/E5/07/13126373-bb8a-02000155-.jpg

Sorry to read about your problem. Your car is great looking! What light bar do you have and how was it installed? My wife wants me to get one for "safety" and I haven't argued with her.
Anyway, hope it gets resolved quiclkly for you and enjoy the cheap gas while you can (focus).

I ordered my light bar from Classicdesignconcepts.com
Check their site out, they have some nice products. I like their light bar a lot!
I paid someone to install it for me because I was afraid of screwing up an inside quarter trim panel. After watching it done though,,,,it's a piece of cake! Even if you drilled the holes a little bit off, they'll be covered, so you can't see it anyway.:) :cbra:

thanks topless - checked out the site. They have some cool stuff. Did you see the 03 pully covers? I thought they looked great.
Did you go with or without the brake light?

Well, today is Friday, the 8th, and the dealership is ordering two new tires for the car. They've got it down to a radial tire pull now. After the new tires are on, and maybe one more recheck on the alignment specs, it's supposed to be fixed. Now I'm sweating that my new chrome wheels don't get scratched. I guess I'm way too anal.:D ;)
Have a great weekend!!:cbra: :cbra:

Saturday morning and the car is still in the shop. Yesterday the service rep told me the new tires were on the car and it still pulls to the right. They were going to rob the tires and wheels off a GT and bolt those on and see what happened. I didn't hear a word about that yet, so who knows. It's starting to bug me that no one seems to be able to fix it. Now what coach?

The pull was fixed on mine by Steeda, 4 wheel alignment and caster camber plates. Tracks straight as an arrow now.
May want to give it a try.

Are these guys really doing a true four wheel allignment because some techs get lazy and set the allignment by cheating . How I know because I did allignments for years when I worked on the bench. Ask for the print out and make sure you get number on all four corners. If you only get the two number for the front he is using the center line from that and not geting a true reading of the rear. Just a thought if it helps great. I can imagine you frustration:bash: .

Thanks for everyone's advice. I picked the car up last Monday afternoon.
I am not sure how the four wheel alignment was done. After swapping the front tires, left to right, right to left, the pull changed to the left. At that point, the Ford rep authorized them to replace two tires. The new tires were put on the front and the car still pulls to the right. Then a new GT was brought over and all four tires and wheels from the GT were bolted on my Cobra and it drove nice as could be. The put my Eagle F-1's back on and it's pulling again/still. So the dealership is sure that I have a tire problem, but SVT, nor Ford will acknowledge this. Today, Thursday, the service manager, and the tech that has been wrestling with my car, will have a meeting with the Ford rep. I'm waiting for a call sometime today to see what comes from this meeting. I can say that the pull is much less now, than it was when I took the car into the dealership. I'll let you know what happens next.

Dave,
The car still has a very, very slight pull on some roads. It's probably not 100%, but the fact that I drive my car only on the weekends and if the weather is nice, I haven't worried too much about bugging Ford to make this right. Two different alignment shops have told me to take the directional tires off the car and it will not pull anymore. With the high price of those F-1's that came on our cars, I'm not going to trash them, just to put on new tires.
I also know that while at the dealership, they took the tires and wheels off a GT and put them on my Cobra. The car drove straight as an arrow, they said. I know the GT tires are 245's, smaller than our 275's, but I don't know if they are directional or not. Anyway, that's where I am now. It doesn't change lanes by itself anymore, so it's much, much better.

No pulling problems with my Coupe........Is this mostly a problem with verts.

I have a coupe and it does it so it is not limited to verts, and why is it always to the right and never left?
