Ok so we go to the Myrtle Beach Experience in September.Looks like lots of work to do there but what do you want to do in the meantime.Since we got started about last Feb we have made an effort to try different venues. What do you like to do with your special Ford? Please throw us some ideas.Re: car show, cruise in ,road course, picnic ,drag race ,dyno day (but NOT at ATS) come to your house and eat your grocerys ? (Just Kidding). Thank you in advance for your reply. Cordially Chuck G activitys director PS thanks to all 29 of you that showed up at the beach ,this promises to be a BIG deal. AND finally where do you live, so that we might do something convenient for you.

Hi L in Ocean. Thanks for your interest. We have talked with sombody from North Carolina that you refer to last spring. We have been quietly working on ours since the '03 Cobra reveal in Chicago. His idea and ours are similar but differ greatly .We plan multiple events ,traveling diplays from Ford.at least one or two top Ford drivers ,some cool weather some music, and less traffic amongst other things. From what I understand he had no intention of joining SVTOA either. It was Mustangs only but now I see he has invited SVT's as well.I wish him well as he promotes our Ford family and hope you enjoy Mustang week.Feel free to join us as well.Thanks.;)

I'd like to see a dyno day. That's something I've never done and would like to have the experience once. Also, I think having a dyno chart in my stack of maintenance records would be cool.
I'd like to have a group outing to drive a scenic highway too. I saw an article some time ago about a group (maybe georgia) that met for a days drive in the mountains and it looked like a blast.
Otherwise, I'm game for just about anything. I think there is a show this Saturday at Patriots Point in Charleston being held by the local club. I'm going to try to check it out.

I'll be at Carolina Dragway in Jackson SC on sat nov 9th with the Atlanta SVTOA ,the SCMC, and the georgia F -body club.Maybe we can get together and go to the Biltmore House in Ashville or something. The Atlanta guys are going to repeat their "Tail of the dragon" cruise to Highlands (I think),on Monday the 11th so I hear. Thanks for the response Dave!:D

Tail of the Dragon - that's what I was trying to remember. Since it's this monday I guess I'll have to wait until next year :p
Biltmore is a good idea. I think I could even get the Mrs. to participate on that one. Maybe we could try a group drive up from Columbia.

Oh, by the way did I mention that the Myrtle Beach committee will be at the Crown Reef Hotel for a meeting SAT NOV 23 from 10am til 5pm? All members are welcome and we have secured rooms at the Crown' for less than $30. If you need an excuse to get out of the house and are not going to any football games.email shoeguy@earthlink.net and I'll try to get you in ,as these low room rates are limited.

Any time that my wife and I go to the Ashville area with stay at a Hampton Inn. There is two or three of them in the area. Driving on the Bluegass PWY is a whole lot of fun. I let my wife drive my L and after about 30 min. of driving she ask if we should have two Lightnings.:bna :tmb:

How much of a risk is there of icy/bad roads this time of year? As long as there's no snow, I'd like give a try.

Biltmore House is a great treat for the family at xmas time. My wife and I have done it a couple of times. It is not cheap to do. You are looking at 35 to 40 dollars ahead for a day pass. You can check out the Biltmore's web site for better information.
As to the Blueridge PWY, it all depends on the weather. They will not let any one on it if is snow covered or iced. So you take your chances at that time of year. I think running the Blueridge in the spring might be a better option. But if you have not seen Biltmore House at xmas it is worth the trip even if you don't get on the parkway.
