For all the SVT owners who have always wanted to time their vehicle in the quarter mile, this is your chance.
On Saturday, August 9, 2003, Delaware Valley SVTOA will hold a meet at Atco Raceway (http://www.atcorace.com/index2.shtml).
Members of our organization will be there to assist you with your memorable event.

First timers will always have a number of questions:
Where is the Tech Line?
Where do I get my time slip?
How do the starting lights (Christmas tree) work?
Do I need a helmet?
What is "Reaction Time"?
Why do you guys do such a big smoky burnout?
These questions and more will be addressed by our knowledgeable staff here at SVTOA.

Have signed up for the car show, where Herb is saving spots for us. Didn't realize we would get to race. Is that true?

If you pay all the proper fees, you can race as well as show. I personnally don't recommend this event for a first timer on the track. You can and will gain a wealth of knowledge at this event about the basics of drag racing. If we can get enough members interested, we can go down when there is much less activity at the track and run then. We can discuss doing so at the next meeting on August 16th.

Out in the first round...
I didn't foul or break, I got out raced.
I was leading entering the traps. I was a truck length behind at the line. Got passed in the traps. Hats off to Charlie Stanley (of Johnny Lightning fame). He was flying.

I'll try again next time.
