What should I expect to run, first time out to the track and my only run ever was a 14.7@97. Need some tips, I launched way too high on that run. What should i go at, I was thinking of maybe 1400-1500 so that I won't spin. Cheap Kumho's in the rear. Thanks

Just my opinion, hope this helps...
You should expect to stink until you get some practice. All of us started there. :D
I imagine you are running an extremely high 60' time right now, as I was when I started out. With a little practice on the clutch you should be able to get your 60' time down. That's what you want to watch on your timeslip. You could run anywhere from a 13.9 to a 13.5 with a fair to middlin' 60' and good shifts.
The Cobra has the wrong rear gear, so there isn't a specific RPM that will give you a good launch; too high and you spin, too low and you bog. The fun is in the practice, and you have to learn to roll out on the clutch as you roll in with the throttle.
Your speed is a little low. Is it broken in yet? You should probaby be around 100 or 101 mph. I run about 103-104.
For now, let it bog, shift as cleanly and quickly as you can, be safe, get comfortable, and try not to break anything. Get good at lowering your RT and your 60', and everything else will get better. Don't start using tricks like changing your tire pressure or removing your spare until you get some practice.

Well thanks for the input, No the car isnt broken in fully yet. I just bought it and it came with 5k miles. It is my second car and I am 22 so I am trying to be real careful with it because I dont want to break anything on it just yet. It has 10k on it now most of the miles were highway bringing it down to where I live. I still havent had a chance to get back to the track and practice since it is 55 miles away and I dont want to get the mileage up there on it.
