Just wondering how long everyone is riding on the stock tires?? Used mainly as a daily driver from April thru October. Not much of a drag racer, in fact have never left rubber anywhere.

Also, what does everyone like as a good set of replacement tires once the stock tires come off?? I've heard Nitto's, Yokos, etc.

Same here bro...i've had her since April and she'll be sleeping
for the winter in mid-Oct. I've never smoked the tires either!

The secret is to rotate the tires frequently, so they get an even
wear = longer tread compound life. I'll rotate mine the start
of Sept. then rotate again probably late May-June '04.

As for more rubber, i will look into the high-performance Toyo's.
Had the "proxs" on my '89 5.0 and they were incredible (and
quite a bit cheaper than the stock Goodyear "gator-backs".

"I've never smoked em yet"...WTF..........(no comment) but some how those kids I knew when I was younder, who were so calm cool and collected, yeah that's the kid, it must be you guys.

Firestone SZ50 Firehawks. I like them much better than the last 2, count them 2 sets of Goodyears on what 7500 miles???

"Dude you're crazy" (who said that) no I just push'em OK. I know how good these brakes are, and I like to hit the gas. At half tread life though, they get noisy, not really less effective just noisey, like they chirp easier on corners and so on. I like the first half and I can't wait to see what happens to the Firestones at half way.....should be pretty soon, eh eh eh. I'll let you know.

They truly do hook me up better, and corner better, and the reviews about them are awesome, go figure. So far for me they're great. And yes they have already been roasted at least 3 times, heck the shop that installed them even made me do it.

:bna :bna :bna Driving like I stole it, and loving every minute of it.

WOW!!!! I got mine October 2002. I have left rubber; somewhere; more than once. Just last Friday I was up at "Bandimere Speedway" Draging in a Club Clash Day. I do belive I left some rubber there too . But it was really fun. Mine will also spend most of the winter sleeping. But give me one nice day and I will be back out there. I am not sure what I will replace the stock tires with. I will have too look around when I am ready. Come on....Lets see some smoke!!!

Even my wife leaves a little rubber on the road. It is almost impossible not to.
I don't mean wild flaming burn outs, just a little gas at the lights.
Gotta love it.
Car has 2300km (thats about 1400 US miles) and yes the rears show signs of wear.
Probably will try YOK's when these are done.

When these Goodyears need to be replaced, I'll get the Firestone SZ50's. I've had experiance with two sets on previous stangs and I love them. They are better in every way than the Goodyears and last longer as well.
