Greetings all...

As if putting on the SVTOA On Track events didn't keep me busy enough... the
Mustang Club of Central Iowa (MCCI) and SVT Cobra Owners Association (SCOA)
are hosting a two-day open-track / driving event at Mid America Motorplex, a
2.23 mile, 15-turn road course near Glenwood, IA (about 2 1/3 hrs north on I-29)
on August 2 & 3, 2003 (Saturday and Sunday). This is a very safe and enjoyable
track to drive, especially if you are a novice or want to get started in
performance track events.

Registration for this event is STILL open and we have plenty of spots still
available!

If you have never attended an "open track" or driving school event... or want
a tune-up event under your belt before the KC SVTOA On Track at Heartland
Park, (Sept 6 & 7, 2003) this would be a GREAT event to attend. It isn't
"officially" a driving school, but I will have several of my Track Guys
instructors on
hand to help out the "novice" drivers and we will have some classroom and Q &
A sessions as well. We had a GREAT TIME last year at this event and are
looking forward to making this year's event even better.

Also, the Midwest Ford Dealers Association has secured some of the Ford 100th
Anniversary vehicles and displays that were used in Detroit as part of "the
big show" back in June. The SVT merchandise trailer will also be in attendance
and Tom Scarpello has been invited and given us a tentative "maybe" about his
attendance.

Cost is $150/day for a WHOLE lotta track time and having fun with and meeting
a wide range of Ford and Mustang enthusiasts from Texas, Oklahoma, Minnesota,
Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois and all sorts of other "exotic lands"! While this
event is sponsored by to Mustang clubs, it is open to all makes of cars and 2WD
trucks (sorry, no SUVs, 4x4s, motorcycles, go-carts or open-wheel race cars).

You can get ALL the registration information from the MCCI web site,
http://www.mustangclubofcentraliowa.org or feel free to email me if you have any
questions.

Hope to see YOU on track at Mid America Motorplex, August 2 & 3.

Hey Alex-
I really wanted to go to this event, but can't make it this time. I really wanted to see the new GT40, too. I'm trying to buy a house (you know, give Eleanor a permanent home), so I have to cut back where I can.

Have fun up there-
Bill

Can't make that event. Just sent in my registration for the Fall Fling and between that and the new set of stickies on the way, I'm tapped out for a while. If I don't have to work, I will probably install the offset control arm bushings and bump steer kit that have been sitting in the garage for several weeks. Maybe I can get the driveshaft loop installed too.

Alex,

Thanks for posting info about our MAM event here... I DO hope you can make it up... I know you (and your Lightning) will REALLY enjoy running MAM (looooooooooong straights!)

Bill: good luck with the house purchase... hope to see you at Heartland Park in Sept...

And to anyone and everyone else who may read this tread, you are ALL invited to attend... this isn't an SVTOA event, nor is it a "Ford only" event... If you DO make it to this event, PLEASE be sure and introduce yourself to me (I'll be running the Sat AM driver's meeting...)

I also know that the SVT "marketing trailer" will be in attendance and a WHOLE lotta other cool Ford stuff....

Hope to see LOTS of you at Mid America Motorplex this weekend!

Bill and Al sorry you guys can't make it. Trust me money hasn't been the most plentlyfull thing around here. But I only have myself to blame. Too many cars I guess.

Jeff, no problem on trying to get the word out. I was going to go, then I wasn't, but now I'm back to going up there. Havn't made it there yet. But when I figured it would be mostly cars, I have to bring the truck up! Well I guess Phil and I will be up Friday afternoon sometime. Anyone else wants to follow is more than welcome. Talk to everyone soon!
