Dear John Coletti,
I have an offer to make.
I noticed with interest the picture of a non-Ford car that is purported to be yours. The picture is in the November 3, 2002 issue of AutoWeek (last page, lower right). The car sports a "I'd Rather Be Driving A GT40" bumper sticker.
I recognize that sticker because I have one on my car also. I got the sticker at Living Legends tour this summer. The sticker has graced my car since the last two MKM open road races of 2002. In my rookie year, I lucked into winning the Grand Touring division of the American Open Road Racing series (www.openroadracing.com). I won the series driving my 2001 SVT Mustang Cobra. My prize for winning the race is a free entry next year.
Since we both would rather be driving a Ford GT, I suggest we team up. I will bring my free race credit (about $500), and you bring a Ford GT. I know that Ford GT's will be in short supply, but hear you have some connections.
If it turns out that you cannot break a Ford GT away from the 100th anniversary celebrations, I will keep an open mind about other cars (maybe even including the one pictured in AutoWeek as a last resort).
Please let me know!

Open Letter to All (including John):
========================
Just announced by MKM (www.openroadracing.com) is a novice discount of $50/$50 for novice and sponser (see text below). I would be quite happy to join with any SVTOA member to for this program. In the unlikely event that more than 10 rookies want to attend; then I can think of many good Ford racers that can handle the extras.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The 2003 Event Fees are the same as 2002 -- no increases! However, there have been a couple of changes to the Discounts. First, the First-timer and 2-race discount (for the Pony Express and Gambler's Run) are no longer available. BUT, they have been replaced with a "Bring-A-Rookie" discount: Every 2002 MKM member that brings a new rallyer to any of our 2003 events will earn a $50 discount PER ROOKIE, and each rookie they bring will ALSO get a $50 discount on their entry fees as well.
