Since I'm a new old guy on this post thing, I will just throw this out for any comment that any one will have. Four days ago I had my car in for the 6000 mile oil change, by others, not the dealer and they were greasing the tie rod ends and found the jam nuts on the right rear rod end backed off all the way. Checking the slop in the sleeve threads found they were so loose the mechanic did not want to tighten it completely. Just enough so I could drive it gently home and then to the dealer. What they found was, a hardened washer had broken, possibly as a result of the jam nut being loose and messing up the threads. Symptoms are, when on the power feels like the rear end wants to go right foward, leave off the gas and it wants to go the other way. Very hard to keep straight. I guess my only thing is to recommend any one who owns a 03 cobra should check the jam nuts at least monthly. The dealer told me this kind of thing will happen with high HP these cars have. Im not sure I believe that, I have found other things loose on my car from day one. Being i am an old guy, I have owened several 60's muscle cars and never had any thing like this happen.
