We are going to the National Mustang Racers Association event at Route 66 on Sunday. We'll be leaving Winfield at 7:30 AM.

It looks like a good event with lots of car show and racing activity.
Let me know if you want to try and meet to caravan together.

My dad, Mike (green 2000 GT), and myself will be heading out there. but will probably be there a little before 8 a.m. just so we can do a quick detail before it gets too warm. I'll doubt if we'll be part of the cruise just because we're a bit further south than you.
If the weather holds up, they're expecting this event to be as big if not bigger than the Bowling Green, KY, event, which is usually the biggest of the year. Outlaw racing class should be full, and is always a blast to watch ... nothing like a nice 1,300 hp car running in the high 7s at about 190 mph. This class just had their first 200 mph run last week. Pro 5.0 is always amazing to watch, as are the Renegade and Drag Radial classes.
I would expect the car show to have as many vehicles as Victor Ford did last weekend, if not more. The judging is a bit different this year (exactly like Fun Ford Weekend car shows). Personally, I don't like that, but I mainly go just to check out other cars and learn a few things.

If you have a little $$$ to burn, this might be good place to do it. Vendors usually offer show specials, too.
"This weekend's Motive Gear NMRA Ford Nationals event at Route 66 Raceway promises to the one of the biggest and baddest Ford events of 2003. Always a great indicator of an event's popularity is the Manufacturers' Midway.
The NMRA is pleased to announce that the Manufacturers' Midway at Route 66 Raceway will have over 60 vendors and span a 1/2 mile long! Check out firsthand a wide array of performance parts dealers offering the best deals for parts you can carry home! Vendors like Ford Racing, Holley, Mickey Thompson, Edelbrock, Auto Meter, NOS and many more will be on hand to answer your questions. A chassis dyno will be at the event offering FREE dyno pulls to all attendees!"

Is the slight chance of rain on Sunday holding you back?
This event is practically in my back yard, I'll leave at 8:15 so I'm there at 8:30. If there's rain I'll skip the car show and just drive my pick-up.

They called for storms on Sunday last week. It was a great day at Victor Ford! I can't make the call until Sunday AM but I am leaning toward going unless it is raining at 7:30AM.
Hope it is sunny and a bunch of us make it!
