Took the my Cobra out Sunday afternoon to show to a Baptism, and to show some bowtie boys and a fellow Cobra owner what a real car looks like, when all of the sudden it started raining. No problem, but if you were in the Carol Stream Glendale Heights are (where I was) we got hit with golf ball sized hail. Needles to say the car looks like a golf ball, or Swiss Cheese. Whichever, you prefer. My wife was under a tent when this all happened, and by the way we found out that week we are having a baby, so my first instinct was to see if she and the baby where alright, and the second was to head tail and save the car, but you know which decision I made, because I am still married, and my wife is still pregnant (THANK GOD). Anyways, that's why I pay insurance, right. Looks like the whole car will be repainted, but all things happen for a reason, right?

It seems like your taking it pretty well. But you're right, that's what insurance is for and at least your wife was OK.
My Ranger got pelted over the weekend too, now I can barely tell where I dropped the canoe on the roof, and good thing they make the hood out of plastic. Also at work one of our vans even had the windsheild shatered from golf ball size hail.

We got squat for rain or anything else but heat in Winfield over the week end. We stood in the driveway and watched lightening to the North and the South and then turned on the sprinklers the plants & trees were so dry. Go figure!
As Larry said the key thing is everyone is OK. Last year my son was driving our 97 Cobra in the Pony Trails in Indiana when a spinning Dodge Pick Up clipped the front end. He was so upset when we pulled up to where he was stopped. He was sure I was going to go off on him. While I was not pleased about the car I was really happy he was OK and I don't think I could have made him feel any worse then he was already feeling. After I saw the Pick Up leaning backwards off the ground on a bent over steel pole I knew how lucky he really was.
God made insurance so we can keep our priorities straight!:) You probably had some scratches in the paint somewhere that needed touched up anyway.
Hope your car has a speedy recovery!

:( WOW Sorry about the paint, does it still go fast:bna
Congrats on the family news. that really is the best thing in life. :bna
We've been really worried about the hail this year. Always keeping an eye out for weather. As a pilot I use to alway be concerened about hail and sever weather. Now we just worry about cars and body damage. Big relief. I also need to re-evaluate my insurance. I have a high deductible for collision and comp because insurance is so high for my 18 year old son. I'm thinking of listing him as Danielle to get the female break.
Anyhow Im glad everyone is OK. :tmb:
