I am Glad someone saw the roundup, I only live 49 miles from it here in Craig and still got there late. I did get to put some miles on my 03 Cobra vert, I usually use my 88 GT vert as a daily driver. what kinds of stangs did you see up there? I did snap a picture of a orange Shelby GT 500 parked on a side street, it was beautiful! Most of the cars driving around were newer GTs when I arrived, but thats OK I enjoyed them trying to figure out what model Cobra I had!

Man, there was just about everything. The only thing I don't remember seeing was a 68 1/2 CJ GT. I couldn't take it all in. Too much to absorb. I focused on the Mach 1's, seeing how my Mach would have stacked up. I think it would have done okay. There were only a couple of 01 Cobras, to my recollection, including one identical to mine. Loads of 03's, however. It was amazing. I have never seen a larger Mustang show, not even close. Next year, I might go up on Friday. It is a heck of drive to go up and back. Plus, I had to be out to DIA by 7 pm Saturday night to pick up my wife. Lots of driving Saturday.

I must have come at the wrong time, all I saw for newer 03's were a red and a black coupe. I passed at least ten or so 99-01 cobras and about 30 GT's. The cars I wanted to see were the older models, they are stunning when you see them running down a back mountain road, all weekend I watched them head up there and just got burried in work! Oh well, I only have to wait another year!

I almost didn't make it, but I figured I had better get up there and check it out.

I noticed you had a mach 1, man I love those cars! I am thinking about a 70 428SCJ with the drag pack in Grabber Orange, what color is your Mach? I am trying to convince my wife that it would be a great car for her to take to shows with me, I hope it works!

Mine is candyapple red. Originally, it was Aztec Aqua, about the same color as good old Crest toothpaste. Not a bad color, but I like the red. I have a picture of it along with my Cobra in the photo gallery under the 1999-2001 link. Man, if you have the chance to get 70 SCJ Mach in any color, I would jump on it. Mine is just a 4v Windsor, but that's okay for now. Decent 428 cars were a little too pricey, considering I only bought the Mach a few months after I bought the Cobra. I haven't owned a vintage Mustang since my 68, which I cracked up back in 81. It's nice to have both.

I love your cars! the mach 1 is definately awsome. My wife is definately interested in a vintage Mustang, but wants a convertible with a big motor. I think it would be easier to obtain a big horsepower car in a hard top rather than a convertible. I showed her picts of a red Shelby GT-350 vert and she liked it, so who knows. I will be more serious about another Mustang as soon as I move into my new house next month!

Thanks! I wish the 69 looked as good close up as it does in the picture, but it is okay for a driver. I agree about the hardtops. Big block converts are a little scarce. You might might find a 67 or 68 390 car a little easier than a 69 or 70. I spent a solid six months of looking following a year of testing the waters before I bought the 69. My goal originally was to get a 428 Mach and keep my 94 Cobra. Then the 0% financing started.......

The funny thing was all I talked about was purchasing an origional Boss 429 until I stopped at Phil Long and started the 03 Cobra, I didn't even test drive it, I just bought it! I have never purchased a car without running through the whole thing top to bottom. When I herd the growl I looked at my wife and smiled and said this is my new car! You have the best of both worlds with a newer snake and a sweet vintage Mach. My 5.0 is 15 years old, but it's not the same as a vintage one, I just have to hang on to it because everytime I sell a 5.0, I buy another one anyways. What have you done with your 01 so far? I can't believe that yesterday my gas pedal broke off when I was shifting from first to second! The dealer guy here in Craig just smiles everytime I walk in and walks me over to the parts dept for whatever I'm going to tell him! I feel like I have had worse luck with the 03 than my 88!,but I would NEVER sell either one. Oh yah!, don't worry about how your Mach's paint looks up close, my 88 is all bubbled and pealing on the hood. I was an Arizona car its whole life and still has the origional paint job. The guy I bought it from had it dead in his yard with the driveshaft hanging of its but! Talk about death before I tore it apart!, everything has been replaced except the motor and I have a Tremec 6spd for it as soon as I have a house again!

No mods on the 01, unless you count the obligatory K&N filter. I toy with the idea of supercharging it, then I think about the warranty. Of course, then there is the 06 Cobra with the rumored 500 hp. If I had waited another year, I could have had an 03.............

I understand with the waranty stuff, it's great to have mods, but not when it comes to Ford not fixing the car. I want to install my chip and pulley and still haven't yet because I know it will void the waranty. I probably should have thought of that before I purchased them, but I know I can install them anytime. They aren't going to do me very good without a gas pedal!!!

Hey 5.0. I did not test drive mine either. I had been looking at an 01; Yellow convertable. A friend told me go look at the 03 at John Elway Ford West and I will not want the 01. As you can see..I got it. No test drive.
