This years Vintage Racing weekend July 17-20th, at Road America is featuring CAN-AM cars.

I have attended this event in the past and it is a must attend. Price of admission gets you into the pits were you get to drool on these authentic racing cars: Boss 302, Z28 Trans am cars, Cobras-Corrvettes-Ferrari-Maserati-Jaguar-Porsche cars from the road racing days of the 50’s & 60’s. Exotic Lemans GT-40’s, Porsches and those great unlimited CAN-AM cars. I have posted a link with the race groups on our web page www.windycitysvtoa.com\Race_groups.gif

The owners are usually friendly, and really race these cars hard sometimes to destruction of some big dollar race cars. They definitely do not baby them around the track.

The best day to go is Sunday 10-6 since this is the race day, but it conflicts with the Victor Ford show.

Saturday’s qualifying is not bad.

You can sit or tailgate anywhere around the track.

Its about a 2.5hour 1-way trip, anyone interested in Caravanning up for a day? Maybe Saturday the 19th.

I'll be on my way home from a two wheel trip I've got planned. I hope to be staying with friends just north of Green Bay on the 19th. It might be possible to stop on my way south. I'll have to get your phone numbers(home and cell) and see what can be worked out. :)

Is anyone going?

I had so much fun at the Mazda Rev-It-Up autocross last weekend, I tried to sign up for the Jaguar XJ Born To Perform autocross being held at Road America July 19 & 20th. Unfortunately they said they are fully subscribed per their mailed invitations, however anyone attending the races can drive the XJ8 on their autocross course.

So I'm thinking about going on Saturday:)

Larry, I am going for one day, either Saturday or Sunday.

If I go Sat, then I can make the Victor Ford show on sunday, but the better racing is on Sunday.

Going to play it by ear, depending on anyone else wanting to go.

A friend of mine who has a race car prep shop plans on having 3 Ex-Trans Am Mustangs at this event. These are late model tube frame type cars. I most likely will be there tas well as he will need a big crew to service 3 cars for 4 days. Thursday is closed practice while Fri. Sat, & Sun. are open to the public. One car will be in Mountain Dew colors and another in All Sport logos just like when Tommy Kendall drove it.

Looks like I will bow out for Saturday, and Sunday is the Victor Ford show which I will attend.

I encourage anyone who has the time to go, this is a great race, and the cars are really cool.

Me too, I've got to many projects going on around the house.

See you Sunday!
