Myrtle Beach Sea Cruise

We need to have an e-mail board meeting. We are getting down to the wire for our myrtle beach event, and we have to discuss where we are going to get the funding for plaques, trophies, dash plaques etc....for the show and shine, autocross, and the drag racing. We only have a few months, and the way we all manage to meet on a regular basis ( or lack there of ) is going to kill us. I don't want to wait till the last minute to try to coordinate this show and shine we are responible for. It will be a flop if we don't do something soon , Anyway, we need to get on the ball, and I have heard nothing from anyone about the event, except that SVTOA is sponsoring the Drag Race. OK, I said my piece. Lets get it going folks. Thanks :)

I know I'm new and all, but I'll be more than happy to help setup and tear down equipment and cones... along with doing my fair share of course working. I've been Auto-Xing awhile with the SCCA's Solo II events. I'm a Focus owner too ;) Drop me a line and I'll start looking for equipment that we can rent / borrow:)

Any help is great. I know from the past that we will need a tape barrier of some sort to cordon off an area for the show and shine. Now this may not be the case with this particular event based on the fact that it should be large. Normally limited to wal-mart parking lot sections used for smaller car shows. Cones would be a good idea, I just don't know how many. I think we are at a stand still until the Ford 100 Year Anniversary Celebration comes to an end. Than, we will start to get rolling. At least that's what I am being told at this point. Stay Tuned......We will be rolling shortly. Thanks again for your willingness to help. We will need it............Danno :)

That's why I'm here ;) Also, I'll go ahead and work on a course layout seeing as how designing the course and laying it down are the hardest parts (next to timing it all) :) Just let me know of anything that I can do to help!

There is a chance that Ford will supply the cones. I think that what I remember from one of our early meetings. One of the board members needs to check with Ed Yarbourgh(sp) the Distict leader.:tmb:

Timing equipment will be provided bySVTOA,as well as helmets and cones (I am almost positive) There could be some changes to dragdayand autocross I am told..Seems we have no place for autocross except Rockingham Dragway..We will know more by Weds July 2nd.:) Oh and the SVT marketing truck will be ours on Sept 11 only due to other commitments. What would life be without constant change?

Thanks, Chuck

Guys,
It looks like the crash wiped out a few days worth of posts, but my offer is still open. I am here to help you any way you can use me. I am planning our Track Day on August 30th and I leave for vacation on July 13 thru the 20th, but I'll help however I can.
