This question has always dawned on me, but i've never thought about it to ask.
03 Lightning
380hp, 450lb-ft of torque
Harley truck
340hp, 425lb-ft of torque
Out of curiosity, what has Ford done to detune the Harley motor when they both use the exact same setup? If someone had a harley truck, what could they do to bring it to the same hp levels as the Lightning? I'm only curious about this question...............

Well, simple thing would be computer limits. Intake may be different too. It also has a longer exhaust system so it's a bit more restrictive. I do believe it bends over the rear axle too. Bends aren't good for power. Also, they are a 4 door cab and longer than a Lightning. Longer means it has a longer driveshaft which means more weight to move and hence, more drivetrain loss. But then again, you are talking brake power so drivetrain loss is not a factor.
But, I was under teh impression that the new Harley trucks had the same power levels as the Lightnings. They are slower because they are heavier, much more luxuriously appointed, big ass 20 inch wheels add to unsprung weight and gearing more suited to cruising than balls-to-the-wall acceleration.

My understanding was that the Harley trucks had a larger snout pulley which results in less boost, 6 lbs. instead of 8.
