hey i have had this prob for a while and of course i take my L to the local blue oval dealer and tell them....."At WOT I experience a fluctuation im my boost........My boost guage fluctates and I feel about 60 hp fluctation im my acceleration....like my boost is dumping of every 2 secs for a half of a sec"......and of course they ran it around the block and could not find the prob........so i take mr ford svt man for a ride and like all times my truck makes me look like a fool.....it would not do it for me. Has ANYONE had this prob or does Anyone know what might be the reason? I have seen alot of stuff about the bypass mod and was wondering if this is why it exists in the first place and......if i do it will my oh so crappy gas mileage sink even lower after the mod.....please help:wtf:

Hey man, I just put on a boost bypass valve and it is used for your problem. I was reading that the truck's computer will dump the boost if it feels that it is too much for the engine. The valve will give a constant boost control, you just have to make sure you don't go hard on it for a long time and watch your engine's temperature. The valve isn't very expensive at all and should fix your problem right up.

good luck!!!

You need to check out the NLOC web pages. There has been a lot of talk about the boost bypass. But after all is said and done you just need to unplug the bypass solenoid. there are pics that show you what to do. Go to the Gen 2 section then page three and look for the heading boost by-pass help.

ok.......so that solenoid that is on my truck is not a bypass valve? Or I should do the 7 dollar mod?

I wasn't sure if you were asking me that question, but no I haven't ever just had it unplugged. There really isn't a difference in power, but it will feel different because of the constant pressure.

ok, where did you get your kit for the mod or did you make your own from the local parts store?

I just unplugged mine after dumping boost at the track. No real difference in performance except no boost dump after a smokey burnout.:tmb:

IMO your problem is different that what a bypass valve or unplugging will do for you. From what you describe, it would appear you have a steady sequence of interuptions in boost at WOT. My understanding is that the dumping of boost is a result of a boost build up, like after a burnout, and it gets released all at once. Yours seems to be on then off, on then off. I'm no expert, just my .02.

First of all I have not notice a problem with boost. So no I have not unplug or put in a bypass to keep form dumping boost. Here is a link to the discussion on it.

It has pictures and information that you might find useful:huh:

As for boost dump the buy pass can be done with a few parts from autozone and about $6.00, that said there is a difference in my truck and no difference in gas milage. With that done a k&n filter and superchip, 16 mpg playing and not much anound here seems to keep up. 5300rpm was stock cut off with superchip shifts at 6300rpm, speed will go over 140 pretty easy. and all this fun and 16mpg.
