May 18 Event Update

This is an update to the event hosted by Wanamaker Park in North Charleston, SC on May 18th ,2003.

The Park manager will not exept donations of any sort. They do not want the money. They have allowed us space for free on a first come, first served basis. The shelter called the " TUPELO" is the shelter and meadow that they want us to use. All Board Members need to arrive no later than 9:00 am please. The Tupelo shelter is designed to give us maximum exposure to all visitors at the park. We can advertise the event in anyway we want, in good taste of course, to draw as many people as we want. The park is hopeing that it will draw more people in. We are working on a Volunteer DJ for the event as well. No definite yet though. Stay tuned.

Will the event be rain or shine? It looks like it might rain this weekend. Is there shelter for us at the park? Will Jim actually bring his truck if it rains? That is the only way most of could beat him in the show and shine!

I think it is going to be a go. As of now, 30% chance of rain and we need to have a meeting anyhow. Plan on being there. I will be there.

I think we are going to have great weather and a great time. Ive invited a few new guys I met at the autocross last weekend. I passed out a few fliers to some guys from columbia and charleston while I was there. I hope some of us can get together at one of the other autocrosses and make a showing. Hope to see everyone on Sunday, Im bringing the wife and kids along too.

I would like to join up for the cruise in. I am in Andrews, so I would like to meet up with you guys on the way in. McClelanville would be ideal for me but I could also meet in Georgetown if that is more convient for people.

And while we are at it, I am looking for a new stock airbox for a 2001-2003 90mm system. I had a slight accident while working on it and cracked it. If anyone has one they aren't using and would like to part with it, please bring it. I will bring extra money with me in hopes that someone takes me up on this offer. Thanks.

May 18th Show and Shine UPDATE:

The weather looks as if it is going to hold out for us, with the exception of a possible afternoon shower. I have been asked by a local vendor if he can come to the party. I'll e-mail Board members with the details. We will be arriving at the gate at 9:00 am sharp. We will be posting signs along various routes, directing people to the park for a car show. Can't wait, seems like it is going to be a lot of fun.
