The paint in dearborn sucks extremely bad (i believe that where they paint em). I have heard about this before. I'm not sure what the fix is though....good luck with that...

some areas that look like the car was pained with dust or hair on the sheetmetal.
If this wasn't a daily driver it would annoy me but fact is most of the damage will come from the miles I put on the car.

No blisters, but the paint on my 01 in general isn't as good as my old 94 Cobra. Doesn't seem very durable. Plus, there a few dust marks and a spot where it looks like somebody bumped wet paint with the edge of plastic or tape (based on my own stupid experience). Nothing very noticable until you notice it.

Have an 01 cobra (laser red) that now has the clear coat penetrated with water marks. Told it is from acid rain. The warranty is only good for 12 months or 12K miles for "atmospheric fallout". Car has 6K miles on it, is garaged and covered and I can't be more disappointed with it at this time. Saw the ford rep Friday and he pretty much blew me off. Still working on it though.

Sounds so typical of Ford "aftercare."

Nothing on mine but a few stone chips after 26,000 miles. I have seen a few other 01's with the blisters or orange peel paint problems. I guess I was one of the lucky ones.

Had a paint bubble on mine before I bought it new. Had the dealer re-paint the driver's door. Best panel on the car!!! Everything else looks like a$$!!!!

MY Black 2001 has the worse paint ever. I can stand in anyone spot and count about 20 to 30 little spots that have paint bubbling up and cracking. They get worse and worse. They are all the way to the Metal. Need to go to the dealer soon and see what they say. It is garage kept and has low miles. Also not driven in rain. If anyone hears anything please send it this way. Thanks

Boy do I agree with that WORSE PAINT EVER, bought black 03 cobra though fords motorsports div. had it deleverd to dealer when it was done if you look or wipe the paint even with 3m rags or a dustbuster it shows white lines.went to dealer they said nothing they could do about it and said thats what happens when you buy a black car.called motorsports they said they would file a complaint against the dealer, dont figure to here back from them?
the clear coat sucks and so does there service.

Customer satisfaction should be a priority for Ford but I think if they fixed every problem on every car the blue oval would be no more. Not to say that they don't care it's just that they are in buisness to make money. I do hope that you guys that have paint problem get it fixed..
I on the other hand had my 01 delivered to me with a 99 rear spoiler, then they needed to replace the trunck lid with the right spoiler. I thought everything was fixed until I went to a SVTOA car rally and realized that the dealership put on an aftermarket spoiler so back I went and after about 6 months the car finally looked like a 01.. That's my only problem so far and I love the car..

IT is just I paid alot of money and took good care of this car now the paint looks worse than my 1990 F150 that has not been washed in 5 years and I do not think it has ever been waxed. It is our hunting truck with 170,000.

That's pretty funny. My 93 F150 has 166k on it. Sits outside most of the time. I do wash and wax it regularly, but here in Denver, the sun and the winter road sand/mystery chemicals can do a number on paint. Frankly, my truck looks great except for some rock chips. On the Cobra, it seems like you could easily scratch the paint with a fingernail. Not so on the truck. Of course, the truck is white, the most forgiving of colors.
