Here's the latest info I have from Ford/SVT re chrome wheel availability:
- Those who purchase/lease a Cobra between initial 2003 production and February 28th, 2003, will receive a letter shortly after the first wk of Nov describing the program.
- Two options will be available: (1) Purchase four wheels for 695 and return the four original painted wheels to Ford via the dealership parts department. The 695 is plus applicable tax. Receive an instant 75.00 "delay" rebate which can be used for mounting/balancing.
(2) Keep the four original wheels and pay 935 plus tax. Receive the instant "delay" rebate off that price.
Mailings of the letters to customers from SVT will be staggered and sent to customers based on their vehicle purchase date; i.e., customers who purchased their Cobra in May 2002 will receive the first notices; those who purchase in February 2003 will receive the final letters. The offer ends November 30th, 2003.
The new chrome wheels will be warranted for the duration of the 3-year/36,000-mile bumper to bumper warranty provided with the vehicle or 12 months/12,000 miles from the date of installation (whichever is longer).
Orders will be prioritized and filled based upon vehicle sale date. Approximately 100 sets of chrome wheels will be available weekly beginning November 4th, 2002. Based on limited availability and an anticipated high level of interest among customers, order fulfillment is expected to run through the summer of 2003.
