Thanks Jamie. The rally was great fun, with some nice, quiet roads through cranberry bogs and pine barrens. You're forgiven for some diabolical "directions."

Was worried about having to go the speed limit (too slow), but after we missed the first turn, I realized I would have to drive quickly, and after I missed about the 6th turn I realized I could have some fun!

Looking for the pictures.

Rich,

I was worried when I pulled into the finish area and Fred was the only one there. The correct route should have taken 1 hour 22 minutes to complete and I was right on time getting there. I guess that I'll try for an easier route next time. I hope that the crew had fun. I will write a wrap-up and post pics soon...

Well as to be expected, we were lost after getting the first clue.:bna It was a nice day to get lost, so after 2 hours of accomplishing nothing we opened the envelope. Found out that we were no where near the end spot. Went to the fire tower, and of course no one was there (at 2:30). Does that mean we were the first out, last in winners?. Did find out two things though, one road rallys do not appear to be our thing and 2, found out where my boss lives (Chatsworth).

Steve

btw: put 128 miles on the truck getting to the tower.

Steve,

We left the tower around 2:10 after waiting and waiting. You and Tony ('69 Stang) were the only two that didn't call to say that you quit or were lost, so we made an executive decision to scoot. I'm glad that you guys made in in alive!!! Give me your clue sheet when we next see each other so that I can tally your points.

I agree that getting lost was fun.

The parts that were frustrating had to do with whether entrances to housing developments counted as roads or not, and the fact that some turns were after 1/10 mile and the turn after Chatsworth was after about 50 miles. But that's OK!

Thanks to everyone who participated, whether you finished or not, you attempted the challenge! :allhail: Extra special thanks to Jamie for setting it up and to Fred for waiting for us!:tmb: When shall we will do another? I think we should do another road rally(not set up by Jamie) in the fall when the leaves are changing!:cbra:

Man, I should have went! I know where the ending point is! Oh well. That's ok, even if I could have gone, there is now way I would have made it by the start time. I was up until 3 am because there was a bomb infront of my house.

What do you mean by a bomb?
Was it Fred's Beetle?:bash:

No, an actual bomb.

From the Courier Post:

Suspected explosive recovered in Glendora

Monday, May 5, 2003

Courier-Post Staff
GLOUCESTER TWP.

Police recovered a possible explosive device early Sunday morning in the township's Glendora section.

Officers called to the scene, at Beverly and Fresno drives, found the device about 1:15 a.m.

Police described it as a plastic soda bottle filled with yellowish liquid, with rolled paper and matches stuffed in the opening. The bottle was in the middle of the intersection.

Officials from Camden County's fire marshal's office and sheriff's department took samples and disposed of the device.

No arrests were made, and an investigation was continuing Sunday, police said.

That was infront of my house on Saturday night/Sunday morning. The cop said it was like the 7th in a series that they have found. Someone said it was terrorists but I highly doubt that. More like a stupid punk ass kid(s) that needs his/her/thier ass kicked. Oh, some discrepancies about the story, it was Gloucester Township in the Catalina Hills section. Glendora is about a mile and a half up the road. Also, the bomb was found at 2 am by my brother, not 1:15 am by the cops. It was also on the FOX Ten O'Clock News last night.

So what do we win, a ride in Fred's bug or the bomb in front of John's house?

Big thanks to Jamie and Fred for putting on the rally!:allhail:

Well, since the sheriff's office took the bomb away, I guess you get a ride in Fred's bug. Be careful if you have allergies though. Those flowers in that plastic vase on the dash could give you troubles! ;)

How many lateral Gs can you pull in a Beetle before the water will spill out of the vase?:D
