i am considering a hurst shifter that is said to be specially made for the 3650 and it is supposed to improve the 2-3 shift. and what about the steeda tri-ax?
also, have any of you seen the appearance piece from saleen? its the c-pillar molding that makes the rear quarter window look longer and more triangular. i think i like the look
best to everybody

Take a serious look at the Pro 5.0 shifter too. With shifters, the best thing to do is try to meet people with the different shifters in their cars, and try them. Each has pluses and minuses. I love the Pro 5.0. Some people think the shifter handle is to short and it makes the shift uncomfortable for them. There are other handles that can be fit on it though, and it is a SOLID piece that should hold up for years of service.

I like the steeda one. My friends with stangs also bought the steeda short throw after they used mine for a little while. Its like driving a whole new car...I cant even stand the factory shifter now.

Steeda Tri-Ax shifter is in my Cobra. It has a real positive
feel. 2nd to 3rd is much better, it doesn't get hung up between 1st and 3rd. I feel more secure in ripping 1st to 2nd then jamming 2nd to 3rd.
No problems or complaints.
I agree with Ken, try them all if you can. There is no perfect shifter. Everyone is looking for their own feel.......

Had a tri ax..........until I drove a friends cobra with a pro 5.0 - bought a pro 5.0 the next day! (sold the tri ax on e-bay for $50)
The pro 5.0 is much easier to shift from 2nd to 3rd.
I thought my tri ax was the best.............like suggested above try and drive a few shifters - and save some cash.
Get a Pro 5.0! :allhail:
I had a Tri Ax and all it did was lead to shifting problems on the quarter. That thing gave me so many headaches. And, no, I didn't just have a defective one, I had two Tri Ax's on three separate 3650s. As you see in my sig, I simply got rid of my last 3650 and got a real tranny. I'm putting the Tri-Ax on my sister's GT since she doesn't race.
And, again, nothing beats a Pro 5.0!

Well, the vote went to Pro5.0! I had it installed today and what a world of difference. The feel is sorta like flipping a light switch. Seems like it requires more right arm effort but I can find each gear each time. Thanks again for all your input.

I don't think you'll ever regret the decision. It is a well made, heavy duty unit that will outlast the car! ;)

I have an MGW shift handle on order. I need to shorten the reach.

Hi 03Kobra,
How do you like your UPR shifter? How much was it? Have you ever tried a Steeda Tri-AX or a PRO 5.0 shifter? How does it compare? Is it in the same league?
thanks,

I have the B&M Ripper shifter in my '99, and the Steeda Tri-Ax in my '03. I realize the trannys are different, but I do like the B&M much better; it seems to be better made.
I have no first had experience with the Pro 5.0, though all comments I've heard about it have been positive.
Good Luck.
