I am thinking about selling my 97 Cobra. 11500 miles, Cervini aftermarket functional ram air hood, Rio Red, Saddle Top, 18 inch Chrome 2000 Cobra Wheels with 1.5 K miles on them, Side Scoops and a Cobra Shark Fin trunk Spoiler. Any ideas on a going price for a pristine car like this and where is a good place to advertise it?
Just looking for ideas and I'm not sure I will sell it.
Thanks for your ideas.

Gonna stick with just the classics Rick?
Autotrader and ebay will get you the best exposure I think. I know someone that sold his cherry '71 Grand Prix last fall on ebay and said the fee was only $35. I really think he wasn't serious about selling it, just listed it with a high reserve to test the market. Some guy from New Jersey bit on it and flew out the following week end to pick it up.
As far as price in todays economy, I'd say it's worth around $17-20K, this is not a good time to sell a performance car. People are lucky to get $40K for 2000 Cobra Rs they paid close to $60k for:rolleyes:
BTW, if you do sell...you'll prolly regret it ....the guy with Grand Prix has:eek:

PETSNKE, Thanks for the feedback. I love the ability to just get in the new ones and go. If I sell the 97 there might be a 2003 in my future. I have a minor bug but just have not decided what to do. The classics are great and the investment is on going to keep them running. I have big boy disease :bna I love em all! They're a MUSTANG! I went to high school outside of Detroit in the late 60s so you know I've been infected with Forditis for a long time.
I also really enjoy the shows that focus on the new or the old stangs. The Fun Ford Week End in Cordova last year was great.
It truly focused on the newer cars.
:)
I just don't know if I can fight the 2003 Cobra Bug and wait for the 2005 redesign. Only time and the budget will tell!

Shopping is the key word. Actual buying will be another story! I doubt we'll ever see financing deals on a Cobra. I was surprised to read on our message board that someone bought one on the X plan. The Cobra is over at Packey Webb waiting for oxygen emissions sensors. The check engine light would not go off. My extended warranty runs out in July so it was a good time to have this problem!
I may try to run an ad after the Spring Fling trip to test the market on the 97.
New Battery and oil change for the 66 tomorrow. Is our 15% discount good for all work at Packey Webb or just on the Cobras?
Thanks for the feed back.

Rick,
Hey, it's Chris (from Cordova). You can always throw it in the Mustang Trader magazine. You may also want to post an ad and pix on midwestfords.org. It's a Mustang club based out of the Chicagoland area, and a lot of people visit the site. Good luck if you decide to sell.

The search at Hemmings.com is 1997 Ford Mustang Cobra. I'll send you an email at your home with some other pics. I can also put a bunch on a CD too. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
It was great to see you again today and to meet Tim!
