16" on 03 cobra back?

I was under the understanding that 16" wheels would not clear the IRS on the 03, however in the latest issue of MM&FF the 03 shoot out between nitrous Pete and the guy from JDM, there both running 16" wheels? I think the welds are XP and that may be why they fit, but the others are from a GT as stated... If 16's fit that sure would save on a tire/wheel combo for the drags:huh: , anyone who reads this article, is it safe to run the spare skinnies at the drags???:bna

So, definately not :bash:

I know there not safe......was just being sarcastick..but hell maybe the wheels and diff tires.once again a hudge savings for tires just used at the track

I would just leave the stockers on front. Skinny tires and light but expensive rims will gain you a 10th of a sec. at the most.
