To All,

I will be setting up the course this Saturday. Not too many turns on this one. Even so, there will some interesting sites and enough chances to get lost. I would advise everyone to bring a state map for reference if they do get lost. At least you will be able to make it to the finish. We will be finishing at a semi-historic spot / tourist attraction (no, not Great Adventure).

We will start at Glory's Discount Market Inc., 584 Cedar Swamp Rd, Jackson, NJ 08527. It's right off of 195 East, exit 21. Take the SILOAM (County Route #526) exit. (Second of 3 possible exits for Jackson.) Go south from the exit to the next light. We will be on the corner there in the big empty parking lot behind the building.

We plan to set-up there for registration at 10:00 am. and we will close registration at 10:30. We will then hold a drivers meeting and get everyone started around 10:45. We will NOT be doing a mileage rally. This will be a timed rally with points scoring. You WILL need a navigator, so grab a partner to read the directions for you.

The points will work as follows:
Arrive exactly on time at the finish. No points (which means you'll probably win). For every second FASTER than the time we will penalize you 1 full point. (it doesn't pay to go faster on this one and we don't want anyone with tickets). For every second SLOWER than the time we will penalize you 1/10th a point. (Going the speed limit and under is GOOD). For every missed clue a 10 point penalty will be assessed. And you will be receiving a sealed envelope. Inside this envelope will be the final destination. If the envelope is opened 35000 point penalty. So you may want to hold on to them and turn them back in at the end.

My cell phone number will be given out at the start in case of EMERGENCIES only. All driver's cell phone numbers will be requested at the drivers meeting so that if you decide to quit or if you take too long, we can get in touch with you. If you get lost, there is always the envelope. I hope to see a good size group at the Rally. If you have any questions/comments please email me at NJStangFan@yahoo.com

Please be prepared for this event. There may or may not be "facilities" available to us either at the start or the final destination. There is no close place for food or beverages at the finish, so be prepared. I'll let Herb make the call about getting together at an establishment afterwards...

By the way, the exit before the one for Glory's Market has a Wawa, McD's, and a Burger King, so if you need to stop off for "anything," do it then. A full tank of gas and a cup of coffee may help a bit!!! :cbra:

Or if you just want to bring me a Tastykake:tmb:

Again, I'm going to have to disagree with Jamie. I do not see a need for the rest of us to bring Tastykakes for you. You should bring Tastykakes for all of us to thank us for showing up for your road rally! ; )

If I wanted to go out and drive around the Pines and get lost for an afternoon, I'd do so. No, no, no. This event is for the chapter and it's greater good. :cbra:

Plan to be there.

Coming from Philly, I need to know if we need snake bite kits in the Pine Barrens?

Is the event rain or shine?

Is the event rain or shine? Unless there is significant bad weather, this event will be rain or shine. I will, however, defer to Herb to answer this one!!!! :cbra:

I'm bringing some "Deep Woods Off" (DEET). We had a run in with ticks last June. It's a little early for ticks, but I'm not taking any chances.

I'm sure there some of us who need a navigator.
If so, post up and we will see if we can get you hooked up.

Well, this sucks. I'm not going to be able to make the road rally. Other plans have gotten in the way.
