View Full Version : Attention SVT Focus Drivers!!!

I am wondering what kind of vehicle all of you drove before your SVT focus.
I drive/drove:
2002 SVT focus (CD silver) first car I've ever owned, I'm still ajusting to this spunky little thing, so far I love it.
2001 Explorer Sport (4x4, 4.0L V6, black, 5 speed auto trans) nice truck, but the thing kept falling apart on me.
1998 Ranger (2 wheel drive, regular cab, blue, 2.4L I4, no options, 4 speed manual trans w/over drive) when I say no options, I mean no options! This thing had no A/C, power anything, not even a tach (on a stick shift!), hey it was all I could afford when I was 17 years old. However this thing was seriously a tank. Never had a mechanical problem with it at all, after beating the hell out of it (like everyone does with their first vehicle)

I had a Wedgewood Blue '99 Ranger XLT super cab. It had 4 doors, the 4.0 V6, a 5 speed, and all options. But I deleted the rear sliding window and the rear door windows that open, for stereo reasons (they rattle).
I wanted to trade it in for a blue Cobra or blue Mustang GT, but there was none left :( I didnt want to drive another truck, I wanted something sporty again so I ended up driving the SVTF and figured what the hell, I'll take one. If I can get my mitts on a blue stang/cobra in the Spring, its V8 time again. And that aint no lie, Foci bye bye bye.
Dont get me wrong, my SVTF is a blast to drive, and I like the way the girlies go pee pee when they see it, but I feel like a V8 guy in a go cart band.

The only other car I've ever owned was a 1994 Acura Integra GS-R. It was a great car and comparable to the SVT Focus - both have 170 hp, front-wheel drive, and are tons of fun to hussle around. I lost Veda to a careless woman in an SUV who slammed into and totalled the old acura. But I must say, I'm smitten with my current ride and wouldn't trade it for anything! Well... maybe a 911

From oldest to most recent:
'86 Merc' Topaz - first car and a true POS!! Who can possibly dispute that....
'89 Bronco II - what a great truck; sold it for $1000 full of rust and with 250k about a year ago - gave me many great memories...
'98 Blazer - no comment
'02 Ranger FX4 - hated to sell it - just a perfect vehicle for me but leases end and one has to makes decisions.......
'03 fSVT - this winter I "MAY" regret it after the Ranger, but that is a big may - never a dull drive, even if just to the corner store
And on the side currently - an '89 IROC - yea, a true icon of the '80's, but that was the point in buying it in the first place - it's a hobby car, what can I say......

75 Datsun B210 - Paid $250 for it, Lasted for years.
79 VW Scirocco - Great Car, its third accident was its last.
83 VW GTI - Great car when it ran. Not the quality of the German built Scirocco
81 Mazda Pick-Up - This truck tought me to fix auto electrics.
79 Toyota Pickup - bought this because I was tired of fixing auto electrics.
90 Toyota 4x4 Pickup - The toughest thing ever. Wish I still had it.
90 VW Jetta GLI - I didn't learn with the GTI. This thing wasn't any better.
84 Saab 900 Turbo - Pleasantly suprised. High Miles and just kept going and going...
95 Jeep Wrangler - Lots of fun, spun around too much on the ice
95 BMW M3 - too much fun, car just about killed me so I sold it
98 Land Rover Discovery - Slow and safe.
91 Pontiac Sunbird - Who can turn down a free car.
99 Harley Sportster - Recovered from M3, wanted to have fun again.
98 Honda Civic - Gave away free Sunbird for actual car.
00 Harley Fatboy - If a little Harley is good, a big Harley is better.
00 Audi A6 2.7 - Honda got Boring, foolishly went back to German Cars.
91 GMC Safari Van - More free GM products. Why does this keep happening?
01 Kawasaki KLR 650 - Sold Harley, bought cycle that never needs cleaning.
02 Kawasaki Concours - had so much $ left over I bought another.
92 Chevy Cavalier - Cheap GM Car. A little better than the free ones.
03 Focus SVT - Free Safari Van quit running.
04 4Runner - SVT won't tow trailer & Audi started to act like a high miles German car
