I have read that a cold air kit can give you 12hp the other 18hp and the third 25hp. I would like to ask what has worked for others I would rather make one educated purchase. I have gathered enough info that I can't decide. The cold air kit's I am refering to are. WMS velocity tube 12hp @ $119 add the Pro-M 87mm MAF for 25hp @ $399 or do I go with the C&L BBK MAC. Now if I do put in the kit do I replace the throttle body as well . I see that there are options and how much I want to spend is the one thats going to decide. Like every body out there I want the most gain in hp for the money spent :tmb: I would hate to buy one kit to realize I need another for it to work right. My cobra is as stock as you can get and I am not going to supercharge it . Will this mod void my warranty

Thanks to a fellow SVTer, I have a BBK CAI on my 01. It didn't make a hill o beans difference in "seat of the pants" but the darn thing looks like a blower to uninformed people..plus being all chromie and all, it sure looks good when the hood is popped. BY looking at my car, most here would probably agree that I focus on looks first, performance later. But remember, I drive a 96 Crown Vic with 96,xxx miles daily so when I get in the Cobra, it has all the power I want (and probably can handle).
That's my 2 cents!

Ok, if you're looking for performance, look at the C&L. You can see the dyno before-after charts on my site in my sig. It was the best "bang for the buck" mod I made on mine.

on the car and the Demolet one in a box ready to be installed. I spoke with both these guys and they both could not stress enough that you have to reset the computer before using these things for any results. I threw in the 65 mm throttle body at the same time and I felt a difference in power and response. I still would like to get it dyno'd to see if I'm smoking crack though.

OK Ken through me a bone here C&L is a start but did you change the MAF and to what size? I was thinking of going with the Pro-M 87mm MAF or is that the wrong size for a stock motor.

you'll need the 80mm C&L (#10699) on a stock '01 Cobra :tmb:
cheapest place I've found it @ $260.10

The MAF is part of the C&L. It also includes a conical K&N filter. You can also buy it direct from C&L for like $269 which includes delivery I believe. :)

Hope this helps.
