Following the meeting, we'll have a "Show and Shine". It's snowing here in Princeton right now, but if it's clear on the 19th, I'll be there with the Zaino for someone's truck!!! :spank:

NO ZAINO!
Never will I put that **** on any of my vehicles!
You do realize that Zaino is a polymer that bonds to the paint? If it ever chips or there is damage, it is impossible to repair and the whole panel has to be stripped and re-painted.
I'll do just fine with my Mother's 3 step process and my power buffer I got for Christmas! :tmb: :bna
Trust me, you'll be able to shave in the shine it'll have! :D

It supposed to rain Thursday and Friday though. I'm gonna have water spots all over the truck. I don't feel like getting up at oh-dark-thirty just to wash it either. Stupid rain.
I don't know if I am going to be able to have the stock wheels on it though. May have to roll on the snow tires. Apparently the Goodyear F1's are on backorder and nobody has an ETA on them. BFGoodrich discontinued the 295/45/18 size and nobody can seem to get the Nitto 555R's in the 295/45/18 size.

WOOHOO! :bna :tmb: :D :bna :spinem:
Got tires! I called 11 shops in the area. A few were cheaper than the shop I went to but only 1 out of teh 11 shops said he would do his best to get them. Every other shop said "They are on indefinte backorder from Goodyear, I don't think I can get them." To which I would respond "Can you try?" Which was answered with big long explinations of a complicated "I'm too freaking lazy to try."
So I went to Royal Tire in Magnolia, NJ. I walked in after I called two weeks and got a price quote. I had to wait for the replacement wheels to show up. The guy rememebr talking to me which I was surprised about. A quick few calls to loacl distributors turned up nothing. I was rather distraught that I would have to wait and the guy said "Oh, I'll get the tires today. I have a few places in Delaware and New York if this guy in Pennsylvania doesn't have them. I know someone has them and I'll get them today." So I said, if you can get them today, I'll leave the wheels now and a deposit. So he said great and we put things in motion.
I left at 8:30 AM. At about 11:45 AM, I got a page to call them. He said "Tires just got here about 45 minutes ago, they are mounted and balanced and ready to go whenever you can come pick them up!" I was like HOT DAMN! So I ran down on my lunch break to get the tires. I was loading them into the back of the truck and one of the mechanics was talking to a customer and said "Hold on a minute." ran over and helped me load the tires. I thought that was real cool!
Anyway, this is the 3rd time I've gotten tires from these guys and I've had the same kind of experience each time. They may not be teh cheapest but they are honest guys who seem to really appreciate thier customers. To me, that's worth the extra cost. They are #1 in my book and I'll recommend them to anyone! So if any of you need to grab tires, these guys are a great place to and they are local merchant. I'm all for supporting the local guys!
Oh yeah, there is a body shop right behind them called Magnolia Auto Body. They can be slow but only because they get backed up with work. However, they have to be one of the best body shops around. Defintly worth the time to go there if you need any kind of damage fixed. He has reasonable rates and if you aren't going through insurance, he usually gives you a break on an expensive job. I had 1100 bucks worth of damage to Thunderbird. He straight up asked me if I was going through insurance. I said no and he crossed out the 1100 bucks and wrote down 745 as the total and stuck to it. That was cool, getting a 355 dollar break.
So there ya go, a couple of decent local guys that you can go out and support!
And now, some dancing bananas!

It's good to hear someone give props to shops they have dealt with!:allhail: Too often we only hear about bad shops,we need to hear about good experiences also! Glad to hear you're rolling again with performance shoes, John!:spinem: Of course you probably did that just to have cleanest tires at Show and Shine Saturday!:bash:

No, I needed new ones. I had to get 2 replacement wheels too. Remember last December when we got the snow storn real early in the season? Caught everyone off-guard? Well, I didn't have snow shoes on. I was doing just fine until that broad in the minivan tagged me. It screwed up both right side wheels and tires. Besides, the rear tires were pretty worn and teh front ones had already hit the wear strips. For 30,000 mile tires they sure do wear out quick!
And at 200-250 bucks a tire, I don't like seeing them go up in smoke.
