I own a 99 mustang cobra convertible. I am having trouble with the back end. When I push the car, accelerate real hard and am coming out of a turn the entire back end starts to wobble/shake, has anyone experienced this and if so any suggestions on what it may be. I have taken it to the ford dealer but they say everything is ok.

Thanks

I have had the same thing. But it depends on the road. I had my car on stands the other day and with some force, I could move the lower A-arms a little bit. It almost looks like the bushings could have had a tighter tolerance.
I'm sure someone will be making urathane bushings for this part of the A-arm soon. I know Maximum Motorsports has bushings for the forward mounting point of the rear end assembly.

Eric,

Check your IRS bolts, and shaft nuts. I changed my gears today and found that one side of the IRS had excessive up and down movement.
I don't know if it was a bad bushing, or just a bolt that was not tightened properly. Book torque is 52 ft. lbs.

I installed the FRPP crossmember and urethane bushings.

Also, my axle nuts were last tightened by Ford during the knuckle recall. They were loose. Book torque on these is 240 ft. lbs.

Good luck,

Mike
