OK WinddySVT you must have spring fever! I'll give you an update on the 65 project. The fenders are off, the engine bay is empty. All power steering components are out and either rebuilt or being rebuilt. We have just ordered upgraded front and rear sway bars. 1" front sway bar, 3/4" rear sway bar, complete poly bushing kit for pillow blocks and p/steer cylinder frame mount bushings. I needed help from my mechanic to get all that stuff right! Here is the supplier: TMC Motorsports Traction Master Company -- Ford Mustang Suspension Experts --
I think I fumed myself Saturday stripping the paint from the engine bay and inner apron. Man what a buzz! :jawdrop:
This week end more stripping and old part restoration in the blast cabinet! Come on over and we'll put you to work! I am using the Cobra to store 65 fenders on. Is that a bad thing?

St Charles here.
I'm a little bummed, I painted my garage floor last summer with epoxy paint, rustoleum brand, and now I have areas where it is flaking off. The company will probably say its a prep issue.
I'm also still finishing inside projects so I can focus 100% in the garage and on the streets soon.
We should plan a weekly meeting night during the week just to cruise and hang out. Just a drive inn or parking lot somewhere. If you can make it great if you cant you cant. Just a reason to go for a ride on nice nights. What do think....;)

Oh yes it is!
Changed the oil on the cobra Saturday, reinstated full coverage with the insurance company, then had a front end alignment completed due to my winter suspension project. Had fun driving fast on twisty roads on Sunday. Sure was fun drivng on the 35mph expressway ramps doing 70mph :D :D :D
I was thinking of attending that track school class Friday night.
check it out (http://www.nsscc.com/nsdrschl/index.html)

sorry about your garage floor -- we were going to do ours but decided we'd wait until the next house, were moving anyway...... and theres too much in there to move out of the way to do it!
Where do you suggest we meet?
Friday nights? Wednesday nights?
hey ---
Sunday afternoons are a good time -- around 3:30 -- everyone else is eating including officer friendly.
not that that matters or anything.....

I would be up for trying to hang during the week...Central location would be cool. I am in Aurora/Naperville Area. Somewhere like Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, Winfield etc. might work...

speed limits on ramps are suggested, not enforceable. Of course if you end up in the ditch that may be another issue. ;)
I just made the suggestion on meeting, your putting to much pressure on me.
Seriously I just thought we could pick a time to meet when it's convenient. Weekends are probably not good. To many commitments plus regular car events.
How about wednesday nights. We could pick a new spot each week, just a resturant, ice cream joint etc. We could call it, hump night, aahh, maybe thats not a good idea. :spank: Anyhow..
Picking the same week night each week might be best. If theres a cruise night somewhere, we could go but the idea is just to meet and hang out. How old am I anyhow.
What does everyone think, wednesdays or is it to much to commit to?

Really, so what you're saying is I can drive as fast as I want to on those ramps since the posted speed limit is only suggested, just gotta keep the car out of the ditch. And I was looking around for cops before I did this. COOL, if anyone has a problem I can just say the chapter dirtector of my car club said it was OK.
Thanks Jim, you made my day :D

Jim --
we didn't mean to put pressure on you.....
we're just bored......
and,
yeah,
I agree .....
now I can blame it on my chapter director when I take the ramps at __ mph ....
don't worry, I haven't ended up in the ditch yet...... and I choose lonely roads when everyone else is eating dinner .....
never mess with dinner.... :D

All
I would be up for meeting on Wednesday nights!
We could just have a post here on the forum every week, with the time-place.
Jim since you suggested it, you should call the 1st meeting place.

it will be iffy with the weather --
we'll all make a mental note that if theres rain --
its off !!
our '99 isn't done yet, we are still waiting for the harnesses to arrive from Schroth -- our '98 needs to pass the emissions test...
:jawdrop:
and I'm avoiding that issue -- easier to just let it sit for now....
we usually put it back on the insurance about the middle of April...
oops,
got sidetracked. Wednesdays will be fine.
suggestions on a place to meet? Just stay out of Carol Stream -- they love pulling Mustangs over for no good reason....
(I'm serious)..... we high tail it out of here and head to other towns where officer friendly's give us the "thumbs up".....

I just got back from Chapter Leader Training in California. It was a good time and I will post more that Bob and I learned later in another post. :p
I had not intended on starting the Wednesday night informal get togethers for another week or so but its in the 70's:bna
I'm going home early and taking the cobra off the jack stands, running some water and soap on it and heading out. I don't know where to meet on short notice so if anyone gets this today I am planning to be at the Galyans parking lot at the new Prarie Landings outdoor mall in Genea. It on Randal Road about a mile south of Il 38 (Roosevelt Rd) Randal is on the west side of Geneva. The mall is ourstanding with great stores and resturants. Anyhow I'll be out there around 7:00 PM. SOrry the location is so far west but since I dont know if anyone will see this I'm picking a spot I like. Hope to see someone tonight. :tmb: :tmb:

Hey Jim, can a cold beer be had there?
If so, maybe I'll blow off my chiropractor appointment and the yard work that I should do and head on out. It's suppose to turn cold and rainy for the weekend anyway :(

Thats what I thought. I'll do work on the weekend. Beer is plentiful however costly. Nice bars. I'll probably be a little earlier but will hane around for awhile. I'll park in the outer lot near Randall Road. This mall is really nice. griff:beer:
