Hey fellow 01 owners. I have been lurking around the SVTOA garage for about a month now. I didn't say hello to the 01 owners. So... Hello! Anyway about a month ago I bought a used 2001 Laser Red Cobra. It currently has 15000 miles. My very first mod was today when I put in a K&N filter. This car runs great. I am sure I will do more mods later. Anyway, I'll talk later.
Take care.

Nah...black is the only color of a TRUE Cobra. ;)
(although I had a 99GT in Laser Red, and it WAS a gorgeous car!)
I'm just kidding about the color. Welcome aboard! The K&N won't be the last mod! ;)

Wow Ken! I went to your website and you have a monster car! 4.30 gears! and all the good stuff! Well you know I orginally wanted the black but my wife and I agreed on laser red since we both liked it but she didn't want black. I cared more about the inards! :cbra:

Nah, it is far from a monster, but it is a fun ride! ;) Now that we've figured out what was holding her back, I expect to post much better time slips in the near future!
That 13.39 was with the stock 3.27's and stock BFG's. I am shopping for MT ET Streets now. It turned out that the 4.30's, the IRS and 300+ RWHP were a "bit much" for the Nitto's! ;)
And I really DO like the Laser Red. I think it is one of the prettiest red's around, but so do our local constables. ;)

I heard a rumor that 2001 Cobra coupes had the lowest build number of any non-"r" Cobra.
Cool!

Now that I can agree with. I've been driving my winter car for about 5 months and have only been zapped by the friendly cops once or twice. I brought the cobra out of storage last weekend and have been zapped almost every day. No tickets though. :bna
I have to admit, there is nothing like a black cobra when it is dust free. I almost ordered mine in black. As it is I spend to much time cleaning the snake. My wife keeps telling me I need to spend as much time with the kids.
As long as it's a cobra, just about any color will look good. ;)

The tickets were why I swore I would never buy another red car, no matter what. ;)

A good compromise...get the kids to help you clean the Cobra. ;)

I'm working on it. My oldest son is 6 and just the right hight to do the wheels. At his point that's about all I want him to do. He loves mustangs and can't wait to start going to shows this summer. We've brought him up right. :) Most kids have a lot of MatchBox cars, and he does but most of his are mustangs. :tmb:
Our other son is just 24 weeks old so I still have time to teach him the finer things about cars. :)

Hey...catch them early! Both of my sons have gone to the dark side! They like the rice rockets. :( I guess I didn't catch them early enough, so 24 weeks sounds about right to be allowing the song of the V-8 to replace the mothers heartbeat! ;) Now my eldest daughter is still an American Iron V-8 fan. I guess it was the rides we used to take her on to get her to sleep! :D

Sorry to hear about your boys. :( But look at it this way, they could be into somethin worse. At least your daughter has it in her blood. Our oldest can sometimes pick out a mustang before I do. Hell, he's already makeing plans to take over the Cobra and told me I would have to buy another one for me to drive. At least I have a few years before he starts driving. :D
