The boot that came with the car to cover up the folded down top is an absolute POS! Anyone know of a good replacement out there?? :cbra:

I got the the soft tonneau from the Ford accessories catalog. Very nice, however, you have to give up the back seats when you use it.

100% agree, so much that I am selling mine for extra cash. I can't even get mine to stay on, there doesn't seem to be a way to get it to do anything other than lay on the back end, thus blowing off if you happen to get over 5 mph.

but it is just ugly. It snaps on in two seconds and I haven't had a problem with it coming off. I will look at the replacement.

Hopefully someone who bought a used mustang that came without it.

You can always go with an after-market tonneau cover. They are made to stay on. Mine is the 2 piece version that actually locks into the rear seatbelt in the middle. I have some pics here: http://www.svtcobra.ws/cobra-tonneau.html

I was at our Eastern Ontario show and shine and after the event we had dyno runs. As I left I didn't realize I still had the cover on until I was at a speed of oh 115 mph and realizing the dam cover was not in my truck I kept an eye on it but looked like I have a cover that works and stays on. I guess if Ford would have a better way of securing it then those snaps thing would be better.

Try a '99 cover. I have had more '01 owners ask me where I got my cover(which is the stock cover for 99), then when they see I also have a speedster cover they want to buy mine. The '99 cover fits great, looks good, and will stay in even at 100+.
