All:

We had a small turnout on Sunday, 9 Mar, but it ended up being quite productive! We all discussed events, how to increase membership, how to get more members involved and how to make money.

One of first events will be attending a show off of Route 23, 27 Apr. Micky, if you can chime here, that would be great as my handwriting here is nothing more than a scribble! This show will be a great way for us to meet other Ford enthusiasts and maybe get them to join our club as well.

Next Steve F., all the way from Barnegat, NJ has been talking with Downs Ford (Toms River) and they are willing to sponsor our own show there. We all agreed this is our best chance to make money (to subsidize our plans for driving schools) and get new members. Downs Ford even offered meeting space for us.

Speaking of meetings, we also agreed that rolling meetings are the best thing for us. We want to try and get as many members as possible to attend our monthly meetings. Ken also suggested we try to have meetings the day of an event, to get more people to attend. We all liked that idea! ;)

The biggest point we all stressed was keeping local dues down to a minimum. I have to double check with national, but I am pretty certain we have to ask $10 per person per year to help us get off our feet. None of us really liked the idea of additional dues, but it is a necessary evil as we have to be self sufficient. If we can put on a few shows a year, the dues next year will either totally be subsidized by the club, or be alot less.

Ken and I will be going out to CA at the end of the month for leadership training. We also will be discussing how to increase membership and problems we see with the organization. If you guys have any questions, please shoot Ken or I an email so we can bring it up.

Again, this is just a quick recap for the members that could not make the meeting...

Thanks!
Chris
Chapter Director

p.s. if you guys couldn't find us, we were all in our winter cars ;) Ken in his F-350, Micky in his Montero, Steve and his wife in their Cheby wagon and my girlfriend and I in my Subaru. :)
