How to get tar off

I ran into a gob of tar somewhere. I got alot off with tar and bug remover, but on the passenger side of my truck it is caked in some places inside the fender well. Anybody have any ideas as to getting this off. I spent almost all day today trying to remove all I could.

You can spray the plastic wheelhouse liners and steel rear
wheelhousings with WD-40, dissolve the tar. It works great!!!!!

WD-40 works great, so does baby oil

If it is inside the wheel wells, you can saturate it with bug and tar remover and let it sit for a little while and let it soak in to the stuck on gobs. The grab a bucket of water with car wash soap in it and a brush and have at it. It has worked for me in the past and the car wash soap removes any oils or greases that can potentially pick up dirt that can cause corrosion problems on metal parts.

Thanks everybody. Now one last quetion. How about if some of it is on the body. Like behind the front and rear wheel wells. Is it best then to just use the bug and tar remover or will these other methods work also without messing up the paint.

Use the bug and tar remover to remove as much as possible. Anything left, use the WD-40 or something like it.
