hi all-
I'm about to buy a new car for autocross, and drive a friends 99 this past weekend!!! what a blast!!!
so now I have deceided to buy a cobra.
what should I look for? any common problems? what is considered high mileage?
I know of the differences between a '96 and a '99, but I allready have an IRS (in my SVO right now) that I would be installing.
thanks for any information!!!

Some 96's had a problem overheating. There was a TSB and many were repaired. It is an expensive repair to have done yourself. I have a 96 and never have had a problem and mine was upgraded. There are other small differences in trim and accessories which most will never notice between 96 and 97. Most were done to cut costs I'm sure. Good Luck!:cbra:

Hey, I have a 96 mystic cobra with 116,000. This coolant system upgrade was never performed on my ride. What did it consist of and how much am I looking at?

Whoops!:o I reread my post and I made a mistake!:spank: I meant to say my car doesn't have the upgrade. I have sat in 100 degree traffic and never had a problem with temperature. :D I've heard the upgrade is in the neighborhood of $1500. I know they replace the radiator and reprogram the computer, not sure what else. Check over on the SVT Cobra Owners Association website, www.scoa.org.
