At Saturdays meeting it was decided we won't try to do anything until after the holidays. We will probably have a chapter meeting in late January. We will start planning next summer events then. If anyone has an idea to do something yet this year, post it here and maybe we can arrange an informal get together to cruise or something.
By the way there were some great looking Cobras and Lightnings at our meeting Saturday. Nice rides guys. :allhail:

I had dinner guests so I didn't stay for the whole event but I really enjoyed the afternoon. Thanks to Jim and David for setting this up. Did we find out who our local distributor will be?

Ric Murphy, the second guy from Mcguiars is the local rep. He sold some stuff at the meeting to some of the guys, and they got the 10% discount. Not alot but something. I hope to have information on this soon as I plan to buy alot of stuff for myself and christmas gifts. Ill post as soon as I can get some type system set up. Should be soon.

No doubt we can get the discount but remember they are charging about $30 more than list for it. I don't know what else that includes but you can get the same machine from Griot's Garage for $200. We will need to see how the price compares after tax, shipping discounts etc.
I'm going to contact him this weekend because I NEED one of those machines.;) ;)

Well, it took some help from Greg, but I'm finally able to chat here! I was at the meeting at Packey Webb as well and just got my buffer from Rick at Classic Auto last Friday. He will offer 10% discount to any SVTOA member in our area moving forward. It works great, tried it on a quarter panel over the weekend. If anyone need his phone #, here it is (847)634-9158. Anyone know how I can rent a covered trailer (preferably)? I'm taking my Cobra up to Sean Hyland Motorsport for a 575 longblock over the winter.
Oh, by the way, I paid $200 for the buffer which included the backing plate, also lifetime guarantee.:tmb:

A 575 long block? Holy cow that sounds like a big upgrade. What kind of HP will you be looking at? Does this change the weight distribution in the car? Have fun it really will be one bad Cobra when you are done. :allhail:
What comes in the $200 starter kit with the buffer?

The 575 SHM longblock basically is the same Cobra block, except it now contains forged rods, pistons, and rings suitable for nitrous or blower applications. They also balance the rotating assembly, use different bearings, upgraded oil pump. It has their Stage 1 heads and comes with blower cams. They have a website at Sean Hyland Motorsports.com. With 12psig it will be around 575rwhp.:tmb:
