How many miles do you have on the car and were you using any oil additives
Was there anything else you changed, like gas, plugs, ect:huh:
See if you can pin point the knock, upper end or lower end of the motor.
Let me know what you find.

I had the same thing.
It was a bad FL820-S filter. The knock went away within 30 seconds of cold start up.
This happened a short time after I changed the oil. I like keeping spare parts, and the filter shelf life that caused the knock was over a year old.
I installed a new FL820-S filter and the knock went away.
I hope it's this simple for you.

The additives might be the cause, we poured in some stp treament, raised the level somewhat.
Since then we have drained a little from the pan and it seems to have subsided a little.
This car has been pampered from 97 till last summer when I bought my cobra, now its a daily driver by my wife and well, she never gets on it.
Question, Can I pull a filter without loosing all the new oil?
Or just do another oil change to pull the filter.
Just curious....
And thanks for the info............

You will lose some oil, maybe a quart.

If your going to change the filter, you will have to add oil anyway, so you might as well change it and be done with it. I lihe the Royal Purple synthetidc. It gives you better oiling conditions and a slight increase in HP. I would go with the 10W-40.
