Anyone else out there get wheel hop when trying to smoke the tires. Not that its a common thing with $230.00 tires but it does occasionally loose traction. Any comments?:)

From the reviews I have read. Amazon racing has a fix for you!
Take care,

Its a terrible feeling, like something is gonna break, but it does keep me from smokin' em which is good 'cause I do not want to be replacing tires at $230.+ a pop.

can you be more specific as to the wheel hop fix. I didn't see anything on their site that was specific on the subject.

Here you go. I have seen nothing but praise for this solution! Guys making 450-500 hp with no hop.

Verts get it worse than coupes based on spring rates and shocks differences. I am adding Sub Frame conectors (Maximum Motorsports Full Length), so that hopefully a stiffer spring and shock (I may go with stock coupe set up) will not make my car vibrate itself apart. Mine's so bad that the tires will frequently break loose at the top of 1st gear and start hoping like crazy. Highly annoying.
I called SVT to ask a bunch of questions and on the day I called they said they had John Colletti's car (vert) in working on a "fix" for wheel hop. I hope they come up with something.

I haven't had any wheel hop yet. Haven't been on a warm road yet either.

has a lot to do with it. I've discovered that if I run 25-26 psi in the rears, it'll hop bad. Changed to 32-35 psi in rears and it does'nt seem to hop much at all. Maybe a little shudder here and there but not like before ( where it felt like the rear axles were going to fly off! ) . I have 525 flywheel hp and Maximum Motorsport subframes. Car just breaks loose and spins the rears like it's on butter now. No more hop-hop-hop ! Of course I have no desire to fry down the middle of my Goodyear F-1s due to over inflation either but 35 psi on a decent road seems to work well.

I've read that new urethane IRS bushings can solve the problem. A bit cheaper fix also if you do the work yourself. Not easy though.
Takes a little know how.

Live axles baby. Wheel hop stinks, it feels like tha car is breaking apart. IRS should have been an option. Do we really need IRS...NO. For the few that do, it should be available, but for the racers, a live axle should have been there, with all the tough stuff in place as well as ratio options. Just imagine if we could have gotten that 8.8 with a 3:73...or even a 4:10, Oh man I would have taken that in heartbeat....oooops did I say that.
Sorry I meant Hoofbeat.
:fryem: IRS sucks.

No hop for me....None! I must be doing something wrong! :)
mine hops too! Only when doing drag race things though. Take into consideration the handeling benifits the I.R.S. affords. It looks like there are some acceptable, not major expensive ways to fix the hop problem. I would like to research that more myself. This car is not designed to be a drag only car. Perhaps svt should offer a dragon snake of old, for those inclined. I cant wait to get my cobra on a road course, and think that the I.R.S. will be an asset. Don't get me wrong I am a die hard N.H.R.A. drag race fan and willing if not eager participant. I just think that we get the best of both worlds mixed together, you are not going to turn 10's but low 12's aint bad for a factory hotrod.:spinem: :spinem:
