Can you be a little more specific about when the "whine" occurs?
My '03 definitely lets out with a turbine - like noise when the engine is under full throttle, but that's the fun of having a supercharger! Some bystanders have likened it to the sound of a fighter jet with the after-burner kicked in!

goodquest - Thought of something you should check - If the noise you hear sounds like a whistling, air-pressure type noise, check the security of all inlet pipe and gasket connections between air cleaner box, mass air sensor and supercharger . Under load, the supercharger creates significant vacuum on the inlet side, and will pull outside air at any point,(Air is like water, it will take the path of least resistance)that the connections are not secure. Especially check the last oval shaped connector (rubber with steel screw clamp) at supercharger inlet.

Ok, while I'm driving under 2000 rpms their is a whine that seems to come from behine the AC area. Kinda sounds like (if I remember correctly) 1972 corvette with a 4 speed trans. Does the
t56 trans whine? or does the supercharger whine (while not under load). It does not sound bad its kinda nice to hear things working. One of these days I will check and see if the radio works

Thanks in advance

Our 6 speeds are noiser than the 5 speed,at the rpm your stating the tranny is prob what you hear

I'll second the motion on the 6 speed whine

My T56 whined when I first got the car. Sounded like a trucks manual transmission. I had a 91 Chevy Silverado that sounded like it. Sorry, did I say Chevy. Don't notice it now. Maybe I'm used to it. I've heard of people insulating the area under the boot to muffle it. And I've heard of people using a different ATF (redline). some claim it shifts better also with the different lube. I will probably wait until 36K mi. before I attempt to mess with it, probably a year from now. Can't stop driving it. Tooooo fun.

PS the sound will fade with time. Especially after the new exhaust system.
