if you had my money

MY focus is still stock and i am looking for 3 main upgrades to get give me a little more hp and pick up.....
i have a stash of about 1600$ so.... 1060$usd

what ime looking for top 3:
more hp for the buck!
a throatier exahst sound
power that will come with out making my wheels spin off the line

am i right if i were to say:

throttle body
chip
borla svt cat back...........kep in mind budget

well there is no chip out yet so your money is saved there....

the TB is beefy enough already so I wouldn't spend money there....


the borla system will make your car sound different (read different !=better always) but the hp gains are averaging around 5-8 for those that are actually doing dynos.


go get a K&N drop in filter for a quick 1-2hp...add a CAI if you don't mind all the problems they bring with them...should pick up about 3hp or so with that.

the biggest problem you will find is that this car is so tuned that adding extras just don't give the wide gains found in other cars. When you do go into big hp gains like a turbo or supercharger, then you have to worry about long term engine reliability.
