I am planning on putting a catback system on my 02 L and I have found that there are a few different manufacturers, such as Bassani, Borla, Magnaflow and JDM's silver bullet. I am not sure which one to go with, so if anyone has one of these systems or has any suggestions let me know.

Thanks!

02,
I had to make the same tough decision. After reading about 500 threads on L exhausts I decided on the Bassani. I must say, I wish I had done it sooner. The Bassani is docile at idle and low RPM's but rocks when you hammer it.
Whichever you use and if you do it yourself you will find that removing the old muffler is a pain. The pipes are crimped with the stock clamps and won't just pull off. I removed the clamps, took a grinder and cut two slits just through the outer pipe, then with a large screwdriver peeled the pipe open a little. It then slipped right off. Everything else is easy. Some don't like the band type Bassani clamps because they don't crimp. I used them and then for an extra measure, drilled and popped a stainless rivet in all four of the x-pipe fittings. This will keep them from blowing off even if the clamps don't hold. Anyway it worked very well, the tips aligned well and I've got "Sweet Music".

I have the JDM Silver Bullet exhaust and the sound is awesome. No cab drone at highway speeds. I have several customers with the Bassani and wish they had my system. One other thing to concider is that Bassani hangs down low underneath the truck causing it to interfere with some of the traction bar set ups, should you do that in the future. Just my .02 worth.

You can go to http://www.teamjdm.com/id252.htm and listen to a sound clip of the Silver Bullet system. Also you can go to www.haloclub.com where the intro page has a clip of, if I remember right, a Bassani cat-back with long tubes. Here is a MAC clip http://users3.ev1.net/~tswarwas/tem/MAC_Revs.mpg This one is of a Bassani cat-back, long tubes and no cats http://members.aol.com/retilghman/SoundFiles//Truck4.wav

Hope it helps.
