WOW! I started up my car for the first time after using the engine block heater and this is one thing I can say is definitely worth it! When the car starts up it runs like it has been running for hours. Excellent smooth idle and the temp guages even register it a little warm. It sure as heck beats sitting there warming it up. If you have one I definitely say use it!

This should help quite a bit in fuel millage during these coooold days. You no longer has to let it warm up or dirve it when ts cold.
Be interestering to see how much you will save in fuel cost with the heater installed.

I'd think that the fule savings would almost even out with the electric bill  , but the less strain I can put on the engine (when I'm not even in the car) the better. I've only been letting it warm up for about 5 min (at 0?F air temp) in the mornings and it's ready to Rock-n-Roll by the time i'm done w/ my coffee.
I love the engine heater:bna

So far I've only seen one drawback to this. It's when you go somewhere without a place to plug-in. I took off from a super bowl party pretty cold and the car went about 500 feet and bogged down. I had to take it out of gear and rev it for a little bit. My theory on this is that the computer notes the last startup condition of the car and tries to run the car that way. But if your car isn't in that starting condition (temperature wise) then the computer figures that out and goes back into a cold start condition where it cuts fuel and goes into a warmup running condition. This is probably to save the engine from damage. So when you are out with no way to heat the block...make SURE you let your car sit there and warm up first.
